the losses to oregon state and tech are roughly similar from the outside, but if you look at the games themselves, it is OBVIOUS that texas had the "better" loss, for lack of a better term. for starters, USC, for all intents, had already lost the game with 2:00 to go in the 4th. Down 27-14 or whatever it was... you weren't going to come back. You were beat. Fair and square. Texas on the other hand lost on the road on a last second catch by the most freakish athlete in college football.
