10P system is like any other you take what works for you and use it where you can. Theres no point in hating on it, I have short legs at 5 ft 11 so I struggle to play 'rubber guard' well ( and boy have i tried ) but love the 'lock down' its a case of using whats useful for you!
Your point is very well stated, however I think the 10P system is based on physical characteristics present in very few people. I think time has already lent plenty of evidence to te effectivness of 10P philosophy, tactics and techniques. System has been around for 8 years and MMA is the world's fastest growing sport. A strong correlation should be pretty obvious
Are your legs as flexible as Malgahaes? Are you in his shape? 10P is for white belts, you have to outgrow it to progress. Cmon, it's been around what, 8 years? And in that time has garnered ONE ADCC victory? How many tournament and grappling competitions have been lost because people are so fixated on wacky tricks? And please, for the love, stop kissing Bravo's ass. Everyone that practices jitz wants to "take jiu jitsu to it's highest level", that 10P cliche is meaningless.
@lsloewen2 I don't see the extra focus on the rubber-guard or twister side-control as "wacky tricks". Some of Bravo's teachings do seem to have helped some high-level fighters. I would not say the guy is redefining bjj, but his school of thought definitely has some merits.
That same argument is ignored the other way around "bravo beat Royler, that's that", and then he goes and recreates jiu jitsu? 10P is NOT an evolution of martial arts as it is marketed. If you want to see how martial arts is evolving, look at Anderson Silva, GSP, Jon Jones
I don't get the bizarre Eddie Bravo ("stop hatin") worship when this match proves he isn't THAT GOOD. He has great skills (he is in ADCC after all) but Leozinho thoroughly, and pretty conclusively KICKED HIS ASS. Why aren't the same people adopting Leo's views about EVERYTHING like they do to Cano--I mean Bravo's (marijuana, jitz in MMA, space aliens, ect)
@lsloewen2 anyone can lose anyone can get their ass kicked anywhere at anytime by anyone i just think its great hes evolving martial arts and not doing the same old shit over and over again and being stagnant
@lsloewen2 Because Eddie had a vision that makes complete sense and people retardedly fought against it for no good reason, so when you see all the good things he brings you love to support his cause. All he wants is to advance jiu jitsu to the highest level it possibly can be. And his student just won ADCC using rubber guard, as well as another student winning IBJJF gold with rubber guard on the same day. His vision is coming to fruition.
I disagree, everyone on the streets is wearing clothing thicker than what is used in no-gi competition and mma. Unless your fighting on a beach your going to have clothing to get in your way, restrict movement, or even to use to your advantage.
@graveyard090 ive seen so many people get finished in the rubber guard in mma and straight jiu jitsu, ive won my last jiu jitsu match in the british open with an omoplata from rubber guard. u wana see some finishes from the rubber guard watch denny prokopos

Eddie isn't an athlete or competitor. He did what he did just to prove that he could. He used hard work and tricks to be the best.
And Royler has a chance to redeem himself against Eddie this April. Lets see how much Royler's game has improved since then. I won't even tell you how much Eddie has improved.
@1MoreRoundbrother Really? Are royler and eddie gonna have a rematch? plz reply!
BTW i think eddie has improved mroe...he hadn't been doing bjj for that long whenh e beat royler...royler most likely hasn't learned that many things.
we'll see! looking ofrward to it if it does happen!
HEY GUYS IM A EDDIE BRAVO FAN AND TRAIN AT 10 PLANET I KNOW WHO LEO V IS HES REALLY GOOD AND TECHNICAL AND UR RIGHT EDDIE LOST TO HIM IN THE NEXT MATCH, BUT IF HE WOULD HAVE FACED EDDIE FIRST WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULDVE HAPPEND GOOD FIGHT THEORY BUT NOW WATCH UR GUY LEO VS A 75 YEAR OLD MAN GRANDMASTER RENATO PAQUET VS LEO V. LEO COULD DO SHIT MAN VS A OLD MAN NOW THATS A JOKE BUT THEN AGAIN UR TALKING ABOUT GRANDMASTER RENATO PAQUET A LEGEND CHECK IT OUT HERE ON YOU TUBE GUYS MUCH LOVE BJJ
I love using this when I am flow rolling with this guy from my gym who has the turtle mastered. but using this is actually extremely easy and nearly impossibly to counter. there is no way to base out against it.
LOL, literally brainwashed into thinking cloth gives you abilities
Bro, Denny will go ahead and silence the haters, bro.
Vinny Magalhaes is also reppin 10th Planet at ADCC this year. 2 champions in 2 weight classes, plus Eddie stomping Royler (If the pussy ever commits to the match, but instead he'll let everyone down because the only respectable Gracie is Renzo)
@pearcemark2 dude are you stalking me? and yes the gi slows everything down, makes you think in nogi you can get by with being a good athlete but if you can escape submissions and positions in the gi then you can't do it 2x easier nogi. vinny was a bjj world champion way before he "repped" 10th planet. and denny can't beat cobrinha, glover, rafa mendes, he couldn't even beat chris holdsworth.. you wouldn't know because you have never stepped into a 10thplanet or bjj gym. thanks im done with you.
@carlsongracieteam Of course you love the gi slowing things down, you're too mentally weak to keep up with a fast pace. Keep those training wheels on.
The gi makes your offense suffer greatly. You become dependent on useless grips that aren't there in MMA, your offense and positional control isn't as good since you don't have that friction helping you keep everything in place.
There's a reason high level black belts repeatedly get wrestlefucked. They don't got dat rubber guard, biatch.
@pearcemark2 actually when is the last time roger gracie has been wrestle fucked? when is the last time jacare got wrestle fucked? ok now rubber guard users. bj penn has been wrestle fucked. vinny magalhaes has been wrestle fucked. aoki has been wrestle fucked. funny how the 2 high level bjj black belts haven't, but the 3 10th planet guys have. i come with facts. every no gi world champ at black belt trains in the gi, every adcc champ trains in the gi. i go by fact not theory thanks bitch.
@pearcemark2 have you ever even trained? if so under who? what is your lineage, affiliation, your belt rank, location of head quarters? favorite positions?
my answers. yes, under carlson gracie jr, carlson gracie team, blue belt 3 stripe, chiago il, s-mount, spider guard with dlr loop, de le riva guard, reverse de le riva, 50/50 guard, 93 guard
@carlsongracieteam you saying when the last time roger and jacare have been wrestler wraped? yes i have a man crush on roger gracie and not just because i train under him but realistic speaking when has roger or jacare faced a high level wrestler in mma like jon jones, gsp, josh koscheck, jon fitch and others, yes roger faced randleman but common who really expected randleman to beat roger. rubber guard is the way to go for mma period
@poganla123 Roger is awesome, Renzo is the man, Rickson should've stepped up and fought Saku but he's still cool, Rener is hilarious. I just find it funny how this blue belt is OBSESSED with hating Eddie Bravo and 10th Planet. Last night I was watching UFC and heard that Javi Vasquez is with Carlson Gracie Team, and he's a bigtime rubber guard player when he's on his back. It's just so odd, the irrational hatred.
I guarantee if he met Eddie and rolled with him, the whole attitude changes.
@pearcemark2 i agree 100 percent dude, eddie is bad to the bone. ive rolled with both eddie and roger and to tell you the truth eddie wrapped me up from his guard better than roger did, everything was just real tight REAL TIGHT, his legs were everywhere all that flexibilty is awesome, i use the rubber guard ALL THE TIME at roger gracie academy and roger and even his dad mauricio loves it so i dont get were all this hatred is coming from. javier is bad ass and close friends with eddie bravo
@poganla123 you dont train, you have never rolled with either man please get off youtube you post prly 20 comments a day on this vid a lone your a fail troll that comes with the same arguement everytime, your a worthless piece of shit and even your mother hates you, do the world a favor and end your live. thanks faggot.
@carlsongracieteam loooool look at the little girly blue belt get all defensive once ive made him look stupid. ur saying i dont train that shows me how ignorant and stupid you are. ive been training bjj since i was 14 and am 22 now that a long god damn time stupid fuck. keep hating dumb ''blue belt''. show me the rule book on how many times you can post on a vid fucking retard. if u say stupid shit i will call you out on it and make you look stupid. ''even my mother hates me'' LOOOL stupid cunt
@ArunBJJ Tap out a gracie in BJJ and see if that means anything... tapping out a gracie is almost more meaningful than any grappling championship u could win. dude taps people out with jui jitsu moves HE FUCKIN MADE UP! i think that means your pretty good
Eddie is obviously very popular and a solid BJJ BB. However, he was never on Leo Vieria's level. Eddie's greatest grappling accomplishment was coming in 4th place in the 2003 ADDC. Leo is a multi time world champion and still competes today.
I think Leo must have seen how Eddie put Grcaie at bay in his half guard, and how he got out in Gracie's side control that is by using his legs a lot. Leo positioned himself far from Eddie's very flexible legs and did some ASS WHOOPING triangle that made Royler tap. His bokk is all about the guard specially fighting in the half guard thus fighting in your back losess points look but however showed that person on top of him would not dominate much.
man eddie is a cock sucker he talks about how he tappped royler yer it was good but make sure you mention this absolute schooling that happened in the following fight
i've rolled with 10th Planet students, and I can tell you this, they havent invented ANYTHING. They claim they have their own SYSTEM, but I cant identify it. And I've been grappling pretty much all my life.
Eddies students use high guard to CONTROL you. If you fall into a submission off high guard then you just arent paying attention.
And the idea that rubber guard is good for MMA is ridiculous. It's PURE STALLING. refs are starting to stand you back up if you lay in rubber guard too long.
it looks cool because of the way the momentum catches him in the air, and it looks more complicated than it really is but you basically have a high double under control and you do a forward roll, only difference being that you extend your spine and sometimes your legs for added momentum... that's it really
This guy really doesnt get sick of giving us these lessons on ignorance does he? Lets see you do any better faggot. I dont think your known for doing anything revolutionary in street fighting, at least these guys actually did something beneficial for their craft. Post some videos of how badass you are if you think your such a badass.
lol hes not over rated. who exactly is over rating him. anyone that says he is just doesnt know how or isnt flexible enough to use rubberguard. fuck the fight with royler. he CREATED a style of jiu jitsu. how many of you guys did that. yeah keep on thinking you're advanced when you get ur little blue belt and start working open guard.... lol pathetic. you just wanna 'say' hes overrated and sound intelligent on youtube... when half of you dont know shit.
Yep. People think just because he hasn't won ADCC it means he's overrated. What they don't realize is that Eddie is respected more for his innovation, teaching, and ideas than for winning trophies.
Hell, he TAPPED Royler Gracie with a TRIANGLE!!! THat HAS to mean something!!! Eddie Bravo is an EXCELLENT Jiu-Jitsu player AND teacher!!! AWSOME innovations!!!!
Eddie hasn't got any inovations! Everything he does he took and relabled! 1 or 2 things are his all the rest is not! The jail break is his, tho. The thing is he's the first to make an intire system of it. He got pwnt in this match tho lol.
What the heck are you on about? I'm not even a blue, and I've been working open guard and rubber guard since pure white.
I don't think he's overrated because he hasn't won ADCC; I think he's overrated because he tries to make it sound like he's the first to advocate no gi training when that just isn't the case.
he made a system. he doesnt advocate no gi, eddie rolls with gi pants on just no top. and its only to emphasize on bjj that works on the street where people dont wear gis and mixed martial arts competition, if you even put any effort into studying what he says you would know he never said that,. idiots like you who dont know made that shit up. his system is also very effective at stopping the strikes of the opponent in top position. if you dont know, dont open your mouth.
first of all where are your sources? you just seem to be talking out of your ass with no references. ive MET and trained with eddie bravo. have you? or do you just talk shit on youtube?
i was trying to this move and i keep getting rejected! i could've tapped out the guy i'm rolling with in class but i keep attempting this and i can't get it :(
Are you rolling with guys equal weight? its all about momentum, you also kind of roll diagonally forward, not straight forward so that your head has a natural position to move into.
the rubber guard and twister system is more deemed towards mma. i agree he is overrated but i'd put him alittle higher than top 30 in the us. i don't think garcia is the baddest mother fucker at the adcc's either. jacare tapped garcia fairly quickly so that proves eddie wrong there.
eddie is overrated but there's no denying the guy is incredible no matter how you look at it...
You have to take into consideration the weight difference between Garcia and all the other top grapplers. They are mostly LHW (Drysdale, Roger Gracie, Xande,) Jacare is a CW. He is doing well against bigger stronger opponets.
eddie= overated.i know it was great he beat royler by triangle but guess what he lost his very next match to leo and leo owned him.eddies rubber guard and twister system is cool but if it so great why doesnt he compete?i dont see eddie as a top grappler, maybe top 30 in us!
He got beaten in that next match because he was exhausted, but you're right, he was fairly beaten. He stated in his book that that loss didn't matter at all, the point was he had shown the world that a Gracie could be beat, and the whole point of him competing at that time was to show that standard jiu-jitsu didn't work as well as Rubber Guard because of the lack of handles. Let's face it dude, Bravo made his statement, he's got hit money...Why should he compete? :P (Shinya Aoki is proof enough)
This guy is almost 40 and he never dates women his own age probably because they don't take him seriously how could they right? He's like a fifteen year old yellow tooth crooked dick chicken legged bobble head who smokes weed to forget how psychologically twisted he really is
we also think he's a closet fag which would explain why he disrespects and disregards women after he has gotten what he wants. BEWARE BEWARE MY FRIENDS! maybe when he comes out of the closet he can start to address the rest of his problems like how to not be a racist showvanist egotistical fat wanna be rockstar. Put your weed up to that Mr. Bravo
It is very interesting how most people know that Eddie Tapped Royler ONCE but not many know that Royler won the ADCCs three times. Eddie admits he uses it to his advantage but still admits Marcelo Garcia is the badest mother fucker at the ADCCs. Its complete BS to me to say everywhere that I tapped Royler. Its like in training, you don't say I tapped "this" brown belt today or whatever. Has Eddie ever won any competitions at brown or black belt??
What is more impressive is that there are many people that truly believe this guy is a legend. What has he done in Grappling or Jiu-Jitsu world ??? Until now he gathers the glory of that victory against Royler Gracie, something that he will never achieve again.
Eddie is fond of Marcelo but Marcelo while great is not the best out there he was beaten twice by former Alliance student Fernando "Terere" Augusto...One was a superfight Marcelo lost on points and the second was the 2003 or 4 Worlds championship were Terere tapped Marcelo with a triangle choke, both fights came after Marcelo world wrecking perfomance at Abu Dhabi!
Funny how eddie bravo fans do not like to mention how vieira schooled bravo...some dont even know who leozino is..still waiting for bravo to compete against the best of the best..still hanging on to his win over royler. no adcc championship for bravo yet claims to have sick moves and all..
@Dojocho Brazilians are just pissed at Eddie beating a gracie as what like a purple or brown belt. In ADCC no less. Don't hate and roll with a 10th planet guy and see. Or roll with Eddie at his dojo and see viado.
@Vidar1979 dude 10th planet is a joke. Ever wonder why out of all the 10th planets in the world none of there dojo's have produced a world class grappler? not even one. some of there best grapplers include joe rogan and denny prokopos what a fucking joke. and eddie would get completely annihilated by any adcc qualifier now a days. and Royler gracie was a fucking joke who never accomplished anything in bjj. one of the easiest gracies to get a win over....
@Dojocho i disagree, i mean it annoys me the constant way people bring up the win over royler. and it would be nice to him in adcc ect. but in fairness to eddie he's not an athlete like some of the other dudes. he never claims to be the best just trys to do new stuff which is always a good idea.
@Dojocho that's funny, it's in the opening credits of his first dvd, so I don't really think he or his fans are denying it, more like completely admitting he got schooled, and that's not disgraceful in the slightest, anyone who knows about jj knows leo is a fucking beast, all the props in the world to leo, i'm just saying it's not like eddie denies that this ever happened
@Dojocho lol but yet he has developed that only BJJ system that has a High % secuess rate in MMA. Damn. Last time i checked rubber guard has blown the fuck up
@Dojocho He never claimed to have the best moves. he just named eveyr position that didn't have a name yet and he added some stuff. He never said he was the best or anything.
@Dojocho dude completely right, Royler invited him to his gym for a rematch, they even said we'll fly you out here anytime you want. Who wouldn't love a free vacation to brazil lol guess what happened.... you guessed it Eddie declined the offer.
@subatomicparticlephy Sounds pretty sad. The guy's so desperate to coast off of his beating a Brown Belt Eddie that he'll pay out of his own pocket for the chance to touch the much more famous man.
@subatomicparticlephy dude eddie has called out Royler every year since that match, and in fact they're going to have a rematch this year at abu dhabi. should be an awesome match regardless.
@Dojocho Don't think he is hanging onto it bud, in fact, in most interviews he mentions how he got dominated in the fight after this and lost by 20-0 points (or something terrible to that effect).
I agree, this is a great transition from turtle to back. I also saw this first from Leo. I first saw him do it in an exhibition match with a judo guy, it's on youtube but I can't find it right now. I've tried it a bunch rolling and I once hurt someone's neck (not badly) so now I do it to the side slightly, as opposed to straight over the top.
I think it's easiest if you grab low (near their belt) but place your shoulder high up on your back. You create a longer lever that way as your arms are extended more.
10P system is like any other you take what works for you and use it where you can. Theres no point in hating on it, I have short legs at 5 ft 11 so I struggle to play 'rubber guard' well ( and boy have i tried ) but love the 'lock down' its a case of using whats useful for you!

@carlsongracieteam The gi makes you smart?
LOL, literally brainwashed into thinking cloth gives you abilities
Bro, Denny will go ahead and silence the haters, bro.
Vinny Magalhaes is also reppin 10th Planet at ADCC this year. 2 champions in 2 weight classes, plus Eddie stomping Royler (If the pussy ever commits to the match, but instead he'll let everyone down because the only respectable Gracie is Renzo)
Royler the pajama wearing sissy
pearcemark2 8 months ago
@pearcemark2 dude are you stalking me? and yes the gi slows everything down, makes you think in nogi you can get by with being a good athlete but if you can escape submissions and positions in the gi then you can't do it 2x easier nogi. vinny was a bjj world champion way before he "repped" 10th planet. and denny can't beat cobrinha, glover, rafa mendes, he couldn't even beat chris holdsworth.. you wouldn't know because you have never stepped into a 10thplanet or bjj gym. thanks im done with you.
carlsongracieteam 8 months ago
@carlsongracieteam Of course you love the gi slowing things down, you're too mentally weak to keep up with a fast pace. Keep those training wheels on.
The gi makes your offense suffer greatly. You become dependent on useless grips that aren't there in MMA, your offense and positional control isn't as good since you don't have that friction helping you keep everything in place.
There's a reason high level black belts repeatedly get wrestlefucked. They don't got dat rubber guard, biatch.
pearcemark2 8 months ago
@pearcemark2 actually when is the last time roger gracie has been wrestle fucked? when is the last time jacare got wrestle fucked? ok now rubber guard users. bj penn has been wrestle fucked. vinny magalhaes has been wrestle fucked. aoki has been wrestle fucked. funny how the 2 high level bjj black belts haven't, but the 3 10th planet guys have. i come with facts. every no gi world champ at black belt trains in the gi, every adcc champ trains in the gi. i go by fact not theory thanks bitch.

@carlsongracieteam you saying when the last time roger and jacare have been wrestler wraped? yes i have a man crush on roger gracie and not just because i train under him but realistic speaking when has roger or jacare faced a high level wrestler in mma like jon jones, gsp, josh koscheck, jon fitch and others, yes roger faced randleman but common who really expected randleman to beat roger. rubber guard is the way to go for mma period
poganla123 8 months ago
@pearcemark2 exactly right dude, rubber guard is definately the way to go for mma
poganla123 8 months ago
@pearcemark2 dont forget roger, the best and very respectable gracie
poganla123 8 months ago
@poganla123 Roger is awesome, Renzo is the man, Rickson should've stepped up and fought Saku but he's still cool, Rener is hilarious. I just find it funny how this blue belt is OBSESSED with hating Eddie Bravo and 10th Planet. Last night I was watching UFC and heard that Javi Vasquez is with Carlson Gracie Team, and he's a bigtime rubber guard player when he's on his back. It's just so odd, the irrational hatred.
I guarantee if he met Eddie and rolled with him, the whole attitude changes.
pearcemark2 8 months ago
@pearcemark2 i agree 100 percent dude, eddie is bad to the bone. ive rolled with both eddie and roger and to tell you the truth eddie wrapped me up from his guard better than roger did, everything was just real tight REAL TIGHT, his legs were everywhere all that flexibilty is awesome, i use the rubber guard ALL THE TIME at roger gracie academy and roger and even his dad mauricio loves it so i dont get were all this hatred is coming from. javier is bad ass and close friends with eddie bravo

His bokk is all about the guard specially fighting in the half guard thus fighting in your back losess points look but however showed that person on top of him would not dominate much.
redcapKO 2 years ago
yea he did the jailbreak to get out of side control it is a pretty good move if ur flexable lol

The reason he lost was because he was outmuscled. With technique being somewhat equal, the strength of vieira is what beat eddie.
JiujitsuGuru216 2 years ago
Out muscled? equal technique? Leo Viera is just a better grappler. He didnt muscle anything. Eddies good he just got outclassed.

i've rolled with 10th Planet students, and I can tell you this, they havent invented ANYTHING.
It's PURE STALLING. refs are starting to stand you back up if you lay in rubber guard too long.
cobrakeister 2 years ago 3
@cobrakeister I know EXACTLY what you mean. Iv been in that position before. (in someone elses gaurd) and YES it is stalling.

eddie sucks. the only reason you see success in rubber guard is because the majority of people who get it played on them dont know how to defend it.

its not a move its just a basic, grab, position then roll forward but a little to the side u positioned yourself in. learned it in my grappling class
mechak 3 years ago
it looks cool because of the way the momentum catches him in the air, and it looks more complicated than it really is but you basically have a high double under control and you do a forward roll, only difference being that you extend your spine and sometimes your legs for added momentum... that's it really

matwizard 3 years ago 4
Yep. People think just because he hasn't won ADCC it means he's overrated. What they don't realize is that Eddie is respected more for his innovation, teaching, and ideas than for winning trophies.
drumsfightingandstuf 3 years ago
Hell, he TAPPED Royler Gracie with a TRIANGLE!!! THat HAS to mean something!!! Eddie Bravo is an EXCELLENT Jiu-Jitsu player AND teacher!!! AWSOME innovations!!!!
GJJFan 3 years ago 2
Eddie hasn't got any inovations! Everything he does he took and relabled! 1 or 2 things are his all the rest is not! The jail break is his, tho. The thing is he's the first to make an intire system of it. He got pwnt in this match tho lol.

What the hell is this supposed to mean?
mooki69 3 years ago 2
What the heck are you on about? I'm not even a blue, and I've been working open guard and rubber guard since pure white.
I don't think he's overrated because he hasn't won ADCC; I think he's overrated because he tries to make it sound like he's the first to advocate no gi training when that just isn't the case.
ilikeaeroplanejelly 2 years ago 4
he made a system. he doesnt advocate no gi, eddie rolls with gi pants on just no top. and its only to emphasize on bjj that works on the street where people dont wear gis and mixed martial arts competition, if you even put any effort into studying what he says you would know he never said that,. idiots like you who dont know made that shit up. his system is also very effective at stopping the strikes of the opponent in top position. if you dont know, dont open your mouth.
matwizard 2 years ago
First of all, read his material. He strongly advocates no-gi training and refutes the usefulness of gi training.
So kindly get your facts straight.
Both gi and no-gi training are important and beneficial.
ilikeaeroplanejelly 2 years ago 10

i was trying to this move and i keep getting rejected! i could've tapped out the guy i'm rolling with in class but i keep attempting this and i can't get it :(
teamroc187 3 years ago
Are you rolling with guys equal weight? its all about momentum, you also kind of roll diagonally forward, not straight forward so that your head has a natural position to move into.
gregcarson 3 years ago
thanks for the advice
teamroc187 3 years ago
the rubber guard and twister system is more deemed towards mma. i agree he is overrated but i'd put him alittle higher than top 30 in the us. i don't think garcia is the baddest mother fucker at the adcc's either. jacare tapped garcia fairly quickly so that proves eddie wrong there.
eddie is overrated but there's no denying the guy is incredible no matter how you look at it...
roycegracie11 3 years ago
You have to take into consideration the weight difference between Garcia and all the other top grapplers. They are mostly LHW (Drysdale, Roger Gracie, Xande,) Jacare is a CW. He is doing well against bigger stronger opponets.
mooki69 3 years ago

DLTakedown 3 years ago
eddie= overated.i know it was great he beat royler by triangle but guess what he lost his very next match to leo and leo owned him.eddies rubber guard and twister system is cool but if it so great why doesnt he compete?i dont see eddie as a top grappler, maybe top 30 in us!
xabovethisworldx 3 years ago 5
He got beaten in that next match because he was exhausted, but you're right, he was fairly beaten. He stated in his book that that loss didn't matter at all, the point was he had shown the world that a Gracie could be beat, and the whole point of him competing at that time was to show that standard jiu-jitsu didn't work as well as Rubber Guard because of the lack of handles. Let's face it dude, Bravo made his statement, he's got hit money...Why should he compete? :P (Shinya Aoki is proof enough)
CassOnCall 3 years ago
im gonna try that in class 2 night lol

we also think he's a closet fag which would explain why he disrespects and disregards women after he has gotten what he wants. Put your weed up to that Mr. Bravo
fatwannaberockstar 3 years ago
It is very interesting how most people know that Eddie Tapped Royler ONCE but not many know that Royler won the ADCCs three times. Eddie admits he uses it to his advantage but still admits Marcelo Garcia is the badest mother fucker at the ADCCs. Its complete BS to me to say everywhere that I tapped Royler. Its like in training, you don't say I tapped "this" brown belt today or whatever. Has Eddie ever won any competitions at brown or black belt??
ilikebluejeans89 3 years ago 5
What is more impressive is that there are many people that truly believe this guy is a legend. What has he done in Grappling or Jiu-Jitsu world ??? Until now he gathers the glory of that victory against Royler Gracie, something that he will never achieve again.
masswithclass 3 years ago 6
Eddie is fond of Marcelo but Marcelo while great is not the best out there he was beaten twice by former Alliance student Fernando "Terere" Augusto...One was a superfight Marcelo lost on points and the second was the 2003 or 4 Worlds championship were Terere tapped Marcelo with a triangle choke, both fights came after Marcelo world wrecking perfomance at Abu Dhabi!

@Dojocho I heard there was a controversy on that match. Someone said Royler lost purposely.

@Dojocho Brazilians are just pissed at Eddie beating a gracie as what like a purple or brown belt. In ADCC no less. Don't hate and roll with a 10th planet guy and see. Or roll with Eddie at his dojo and see viado.
Vidar1979 1 year ago
@Vidar1979 dude 10th planet is a joke. Ever wonder why out of all the 10th planets in the world none of there dojo's have produced a world class grappler? not even one. some of there best grapplers include joe rogan and denny prokopos what a fucking joke. and eddie would get completely annihilated by any adcc qualifier now a days. and Royler gracie was a fucking joke who never accomplished anything in bjj. one of the easiest gracies to get a win over....

I agree, this is a great transition from turtle to back. I also saw this first from Leo. I first saw him do it in an exhibition match with a judo guy, it's on youtube but I can't find it right now.
