  • Achilles "The Greatest Warrior" rules !!!! :D

  • 3200 years ago i wish i fought aside Achilles

  • HOW MANY ARCHERS are they siriesly

  • HELEN IN LOVE WITH PARIS...???!!! HOW FUNNY IF NOT SILLY!The film was an"Epic Parody".Such a pathetic - uncultivated approach to Homer's masterpiece(a symbolic analysis to universal ideals). What a shame really!

  • all poets told war as heroism and glory but after ww1 they said it was a horror and hell

  • the face (Helen's) that lauched 1000 ships!!!

  • 10 000 ships. Just epic!

  • @KaczorTGWTGpl 1000 ships bro

  • I love This movie!! I love! love! love! love it somuch.

but sometimes, I unwilling to see it cause I'm too love Hector to watch him die tragically.

  • there is a sex part

  • Does someone know how the music is called?

  • @2711bene just trailer theme troy

  • @Gamtiwia Even tho Hector died, i would say he was the B-O-S-S

  • @road35 Achilles is a best warrior

  • a beautiful country just got destroyed simply because of a whore queen...One of my fav movies of all time....all the characters just fit in....Brad doing Achiellies which was amazing....Eric doing Hector was awesome....and ofcourse the whole queen and the coward prince played by the asshole Orlando Bloom.....I think the later 2 did the best because viewers simply hated them after watching the movie...

  • i worked in it as a extras...

  • @Lhein what was there no reference to in the Iliad??

What you say may be true but however i cant help but remain sceptical about it as my classical studies teacher (who also took me for scholarship) told us the same thing you are saying - this history is rarely clear cut because its so old the account by Virgil states tht at least one of the founders, Dardanus, came from Samothrace which was later renamed Italy

  • @DonCorleoneGR both of you need to read the Aeneid the Trojans were originally decended from Ancient Italians. this is stated in the Aeneid as the founders of Troy were from there. Also Aeneas (the main character) had to return to Italy (the land of the founders) to found the Roman race after the sack of Troy thus the Trojans get revenge later when they add Greece to their empire the Aenaid is based on Romes history

  • @Vegetarianization What you say about the Aeneid is true. But, I don't think this is the belief of the ancient Greeks (before the later hellenistic era at least) and in the Iliad there is no such reference

The royal family of the Trojans came from the Greek gods and had relations with Greece. Dardanus, according to Dionysius Hallicarnaseus, was son of Zeus, from Arcadia. From him originated the trojan kings. In mythology, there is rarely ONLY ONE version.

  • classical studies totally ruined this film for me lol now i can only think about how bad and unaccurate it is which i just lol at

  • good movie. is the Director's Cut better? i know it includes 30 minutes of additional footage not seen in theaters.

  • This video gives me goosebumps !!!....King Priam was a real person, Genealogy is pure genius.

  • Falcon13001 your a fucking retard...hands down

  • Glory Of Greece!!!!

  • Nahhh that isnt a true story.......i hate that film

  • Great Greece...

  • The movie is kinda drab and cheesy, but I have to admit that this trailer is amazingly good by itself.

  • @Ognyann There is nothing drab or cheesy about this film., it is only your opinion. Homer can not be cheesy. Iliad is a monumental masterpiece. It was written about 2800 years ago, so if you are a fan of Spiderman-like movies, yes is boring.

  • @creankk Well, of course it's MY opinion, can't be someone else's. The Iliad might be a monumental masterpiece that has been written centuries ago and all, but Troy the Movie is nothing more than a Hollywoodized recap of Iliad the Poem. And not a very good one, too.

  • Fucking epic.

  • 0:26 Saw "Em Off

  • Too bad the Troy only had archers to suppress an army's landfall on the beaches. If they had the catapult, they might've been able to just shell the Greek navy and their assembly when they reached the beach.

When the Trojan army went on the sneak attack, they should've finished the war there or tried to capture Agamemnon. Patroclus' death was an even bigger blow to the Greek army's morale.

  • imagine Achilles fighting Leonidas. that would be awesome.

  • And after years, Ottomans takes revenge of Trojans on Spartans...

  • @35canefe that was the persians that took revenge, not ottomans.plus the trojans were greek.the real cause of this war,was to control the ellispontos passages,so they can gain money from taxes.Helen was just a fake reason of war.Menelaos couldn't care less for helen. And,supposing it was the ottomans who got revenge on leonidas(even though it was just imperialism) we took revenge by destroying the entire fleet in salamina, and their army in marathon.and years later, alexander said the last word...

  • @DonCorleoneGR Im not talking about Greek and Persian wars they are older. Im talking about AC 1354, the date when Ottoman emperor Orhan Bey took Troy(part of Canakkale today), and he said "We took the revenge of Laomedon from Greeks". And i think there is no connection between leonidas and ottomans because it is not possible because of the date. Anyways just an information .

  • @35canefe LOL.and i tell you once again, that trojans were greeks.Laomedon is a greek name. Please though, before talkin about him, learn that that is a myth, unless of course you believe in Zeus and his demi-god son Hercules.why would the turks take revenge for a greek from the greeks??it makes no sense...anywayz.

  • @DonCorleoneGR anyways but ancient Troy city is still there, you are welcomed to see...

  • i like this trailer

  • Someone can say me the name of the song please??

  • @vyandy Musikvergnuegen - Troy Teaser theme

  • Someone can ssay me the name of the song please??

  • And the warrior he called upon to lead a war of vengeance- brad Pitt lol

  • i watch it at school, and wow!!! was soooooo great i love to watch it again...

  • The music is "Original Trailer Music," by Musikvergnuegen

  • AhahahahahahI love this trailer: but is about The war of Troy or the D-Day!

  • THIS MOVIE IS EPIC. I watch it every month, and I don't get tired of it. It's just one of these movies that stay awesome, no matter how many times you watch them..

    LOVE IT!!

  • I'm frikkin OBSESSED with this movie!!!

  • This movie is so great... I never get tired of seeing him! Its epic!

P.s - I like Achilles, but Hector was so amazing... love him xD

  • @SaRaHtheBlackStar finally, someone who agrees with me!! I love Hector (and Eric Bana, for that matter :p) but ALL my friends prefer Achilles. Okay, Brad Pitt does an amzing job as Achilles and is damn sexy, but I don't know, Hector's story is just awesome. He's awesome :D

  • Diane kruger was good as Helen.

  • In the myth, Menelaus dragged paris back to the Greek line, yet Aphrodite rescued him plus Menelaus survived the war and returned home to Sparta with Helen.

  • Supposedly Brad Pitt's going to play Mark Antony in a new film on Cleopatra based on Stacy Schiff's latest book with Jolie in the title role. James Cameron's going to be the director, the projects currently on the shelf. If Brad does get the part, he'll have to get back in shape as he was in "Troy" to play Antony.

  • One of the best movies ever!

  • I was surprized Hecuba and Cassandra were not acknowledged in this film, yet I love it!

  • why are they all wearing skirts?

  • @FlashFlye They're wearing tunics, it's a style of clothing. Around this point in time, pants or leggings of any type were only really in use amongst the proto-Celtic and Germanic tribes, the Iranian tribes north of the Black Sea and to the west. People in the Mediterranean commonly wore the short knee length tunics you see here.

  • love this movie and love the iliad

  • @moxy1892 I have no idea what ot's called, bu t I know it's available, I have it on my Ipod (as 'Troy trailer music :p). I don't remember how I got it, but you should just look on Itunes or downloading sites, it should be there somewhere.

  • i love the music for this trailer,is it available?

  • HECTORRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • Gladiator is Better

  • orlando bloom is fucking sexy

  • One of the most underrated films of all time.

  • Awsome trailer. It's a shame they made a movie out of it :-D

  • This is one of the best movies i have ever watched really enjoyed it

  • Also, it is not based on a real battle, it is based on the Iliad.

  • @leisotheoriginal and the Site of troy...bascially its entire civiliations since there is more than 1 layer------was founded by using the illiad

  • everyones like, i hate achilles! after seeing this movie.... god damn its hot.

  • I am a man, but when the brother died, in my head i was like "No No fight fight noooooooo" It reminded me of titanic the good guys always die because of some stupid woman, NO! you dont give up your brother, father and cities life for some crazy woman, i know is just a story but Yo....it was an emotional gangster movie.

  • brad pitt is hottt in this movie!!!

  • Brad Pitt is so bloody hot in this movie! I <3 Brad Pitt a thousand times over... 300 is nothing compared to this...

  • Brad Pitt is so bloody hot in this movie! I <3 Brad Pitt a thousand times over...

  • great movie

  • "If love is worth fighting for, it has no known greater battle than this.'' I wanna watch it!

  • This movie was awful. Didn't do the story justice.

  • @concentratedenergy Ikr! Paris died in the story, Achilles son killed Priam not Agamemnon who was muredered after his homecoming by Clytemnestra, his wife. Plus the Olympians except for Thetis were not mentioned. The fight between Achilles and Hector was innacurate, Lacoon was not acknowledged nor were the Amazons and the part in the story where Odysseus decieved Helen.

  • I watched this yesterday. Its really good. I only watched it for Orlando Bloom. He's so cute!!!

  • @xion2468 he's a poof .

  • @rubberdildos Believe what you want to. I think he is HOT!!

  • TROY OWNS 300!!!

  • 0:45 why didn't they cut a few seconds later?

  • i was looking for this movie for a long time.

  • Greeks were sucking cocks for persians for a long time !

  • Meh, Troy sucked IMO. It might've been badass, but it was so inaccurate... and most of my favorite characters were turned into assholes.

  • 0:44 - I think i just came.

  • Must have watched this trailer 150 times in the 6th grade. Still gets me pumped.

  • @gasolinedreamer lol really? you should watch this one : troy trailer hd - themovieguy0042. it's a fan made but i prefer it, it's made with the music of star trek trailer 3 (by the way, i didnt know it was possible to make trailers with a music of another trailer 0_0)

  • awesome movie but the trailer sucks. i prefer the fan made that i saw few minutes ago (troy trailer hd - themovieguy0042)

  • anyone know the name of the music?

  • @Sunnyboy2000de

    Don't like it? Bite me.

Better yet, don't watch it. But if you don't like something, theres no fucking point in saying you don't like it on the internet because there is always going to be people who disagree with you.

  • Comment removed

  • fight for LOVE should be only fight on this planet! .

  • I love this movie! who cares if it wasnt historically accurate its a movie like big man said.......P.S Achilles was damn sexyy

  • @softballmamy

my bad that was my moms account I really meant to say that! I hope she doesnt see was I said xD

  • I love people who come on here and complain about how this movie was not historically accurate and all that nonsense, PEOPLE IT'S A FUCKING MOVIE! You want to learn history, you want to learn historical events that took place, etc. READ A FUCKING BOOK. Rational people don't go to movies to learn, they go to movies to be entertained. And this movie did just that, so enjoy it....THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE WITH ME :)

  • @bigman6499 You know what's funny. The story of Troy has yet to be proven accurate anyway (haven't seen the movie, though I want to). So anyone who's complaining about it's inaccuracy should shut up and get facts straight anyway. ;] Gotta love stupid people. I totally agree with you!

  • @NarutoIsMyNumber1 hahaha gotta love them man!

  • @NarutoIsMyNumber1 hahaha gotta love them man!

  • @bigman6499 you are idiot... because by telling lies in the movies is like propaganda.. uneducated people who see the movie think that this is the history...

  • @122113314747 Like I said before, because clearly you didn't read what I said, a RATIONAL person does not go to a movie to be educated on, i.e. history, science, so forth, they go to be entertained. A documentary will provide education, but this is a MOVIE. Uneducated people are not rational people now are they? If they were rational then they know rational thing to do if one wants to be educated on a subject or topic is to do the proper research and/or read, not watch a movie! You dumbass.

  • @bigman6499 More than that, the tale of Troy is not history, but myth. And in my opinion, TROY is a very decent interpretation of that myth.

  • @smst777 of course, and your evidence that Troy is a myth is???

  • @Maniatis1970 Well ... if you mean the city of Troy (or Troia), that was real. But the tale of the Troian War is actually passed down to us by the epics of Homer, the Iliad and the Odyssey. It is pretty obvious that they are myths, given that they were written a good 500 years after the historical Troian war is supposed to have taken place. How much truth lies in that myths, is another question, but by no ways it should be taken litterally.

  • @bigman6499 Shit, me click wrong buttons

  • @bigman6499 what do you mean historically accurate? this was based on the greatest literary book in Greece the iliad..its not based on true events...and the movie is completely different than the book...it sucks COCK

  • @fernfern9 yes it is loosely based on the greek literary book the iliad, but you do realize that there has long been controversy surrounding the iliad as many have claimed that the events in the book actually took place? you didn't know that?

  • @bigman6499 yeah ive seen work on that...but its so vague, and i guarantee this movie's ideas came from the iliad no the historical research

  • @bigman6499 and furthermore it was based on a fucking myth. The director himself said it was a cross between history and myth.It was never meant to be historically accurate.

Altho i'm very interested in history, those people are just idiots.

  • @ipimees the movie is almost accurate...you realize that because of this war the achaian greek empire collapsed..right??

  • @aperantos13 the actual war is not depicted correctly tho, seeing as how the walls were nowhere near as big as seen in the movie. And i seriously doubt the whole heroes part. The war might have been real, but i doubt it looked as epic.

  • @ipiThe fact that a man like achilles made a whole army regain their courage and lead back the trojans is epic...dont fool yourself..the movie doesnt make the war look epic...the war was far more epic than this...these were different times,it wasnt so much about strategy...it was the era of heroes...read Iliad and you ll understand..also there is realism in many parts...hector wasnt so noble when he dealt with enemies(unlike the movie) and menelaus wasnt a fat bad guy.also there is no happy end.

  • @aperantos13 Are you fucking dumb? The iliad is not based on historical fact, you think hector had a 5.5m spear?you think the war started with the fight between the 3 goddesses? You think gods changed the course of the war?You think achillies was the son of a goddess?

I've read the iliad,it's not exactly what i'd call historical fact...You can't be this dumb,man..

  • @ipimees greek mythology is based only on historical facts. The greatest general of all times,Alexander the great was inspired by Achilles and had Iliad always with him.The names, the kings etc in iliad existed in these times and it has been proved.Learn before you speak.

  • @aperantos13 you have any source for these claims or you're just making shit up? Give me a source where you got that information and i'll believe you.

  • @ipimees and of course there are some things in iliad which are not real.dont be stupid!!!!

  • @aperantos13 Haha..you're actually calling me stupid while you're the one who thinks the iliad is true? You probably think zeus is real aswell,eh?

And you got that proof already?

  • @ipimees I didnt say Zeus is real!...let me tell you two examples....one of the reasons we know when the minoan dynasty fall is because Homer states that a powerful army joined agamemnons forces...That means that the disasters in crete happened after the event. Also we are able to know when the greek city states were overrun by the dorians...now, if i am talking to a person who doesnt know history and only read Iliad then dont bother.

  • @aperantos13 yet theres no proof that agamemmnon ever lived..Don't preach to me about history because you did some quick googling, you're the idiot here, not me.And you're the one who bragged about reading the iliad, not me.

  • @ipimees XAXAXAXXAAXAXAXAXA are you serious???The archaelogists found his tomb and tomb mask in greece and you say you dont know if he existed!!! Sorry m8,i just realized you are a noob!

  • @aperantos13 they're not sure that it's him, check your facts before you start acting all high and mighty you dumb sack of shit.

  • @ipimees WHO says that???you?they found his tomb, and his wife s tomb and many more.I study this stuff at university and have been in this place.I hve facts and you reply with a "they re not sure"comment!so ridiculousBesides, you are smart enough to google it! if you want, dont believe history but stop whining, you sound like a complete idiot.

  • @aperantos13 and pm a link to some site that states without doubt that the tomb is agamemmnons,it may be called that but they don't know if he was actually buried there.

Furthermore if it would actually be his tomb he is still just one guy.And only a retard would think that ancient battles were won by heroes instead of good strategy,no doubt good fighters helped boost morale but they didn't win the wars. You can't mix fantasy with history and call it fact..

  • @ipimees They had their strategies but these were the times of heroes. We are not in medieval times or the times of rome.

your comment about strategies is funny.have you ever wondered why Homer tells us that the war lasted 10 years?Do you know why Homer doesnt make any reference to something very important about troy which should be in Iliad but there isnt?i dont think so.Just let it go dude. You obviously know nothing about this Age.

  • Comment removed

  • @ipimees after thousands of years all man made structures wear away, its depends on the material. so the walls of troy could have been twice as big, its hard to be accurate when its discovered not long ago...

  • @olliekor theres still ways to make sure how big things were and how they looked like.

  • @ipimees just get the time team in lol, good aul Tony Robinson. I don't know if ye watch that, just our side of the pond type of humor. Good programme though...

  • thisk ind of music with Halo would be extremely epic

  • 0:46 yummy

  • I love this movie SO MUCH! but i feel really really bad for every single character other than Agamemnon. seriously, their lives all get really screwed up.

  • I own this and it is the best EVER! Orlando (Paris) is flippin hot

  • why is this the best version of this trailer I can find? Oh well. I love this trailer. It is what started my love of movie scores and modern instrumental.

  • One of the worst movies ever made. All the stars seem thrown into the roles together simply because of their celebrity hotness. Orlando Bloom and Diane Kruger are about the only people that actually semi-fit. The lines are cheesy. The story is historically inaccurate. The story switches back and forth between major characters. The plotline is horrendous. All women are used as sex objects and nothing more. Everything about this film spells out an intended epic gone bad.

  • @spaciousgalaxy

This was the largest battle the world had ever seen. That fleet that is portrayed in Troy was the single largest armada and the largest successful invasion, trumped only by the invasion on Normandy Beach in World War II.

Read a fucking book and maybe eventually you'll stop looking like a jackass on the internet.

Greece, by the way, used sex as a weapon. When the soldiers and their leaders were getting laid by a seemingly harmless hooker, she was actually a hired assassin.

  • @XxDiZfUnKtIoNxX

    1. This mythological battle was poorly portrayed, and the fact that the battle was huge is no excuse for a bad movie.

    2. You have no argument for the bad acting, wrong people placed in roles, cheesy/unoriginal lines, and inconsistency with characters.

    3. There are far greater movies. Some are historically inaccurate unfortunately, but they do have a solid plotline. Gladiator and Braveheart are perfect examples.

    4. The only one who sounds stupid here is you, buddy.

  • @spaciousgalaxy syfu fag no1 cares if it's historicly accurate its a god damn movie not a documentary of the batttle...

  • @XxDiZfUnKtIoNxX

Check the comments on this page. A good number of people disagree with you about Troy's quality. No one every talks about this movie. It is nearly a forgotten film. On the other hand, movies such as Braveheart, Gladiator, and Saving Private Ryan live on as classics.

  • i study storys like this at university

and archeologists have actually dug down deep where they fought troy would be

and they have actually found a city burned down

so in my opinion most of this story is true

    just sayin guys

  • the thing is u ppl cant say if its true or not because no one reaally knows wut happened. it started out as a myth and know everyones arguing bout wut really happened which is useless. ppl can believe wut they want but theres so many variations of it that not everyone is ever going to agree.

  • It's a FUCKING movie. Of coarse it's not going to be based on the actual book. No movie is based on any actual book word for word or scene for scene. So what if you're Greek; who the fuck cares. That wasn't you back then so quit crying about it. You're not going to fit years of battle into less than two hours. Good movie or bad movie, if you don't like it don't comment on it. And if you seen the movie and didn't like it why would you watch the trailer? Fools.

  • I am Greek and the movie is a lie!!!! Troy was greek but it didn't belong to the kingdom of agamemnon!in that movie Greeks are barbarians and people of troy with culture! But is the same nation!language religion blood!generally is better somebody read the book iliad and odysseia to read the true story before 28 centuries!

  • My favorite movie I've ever Seen in my life. And it's 6 years old. The duels are bad ass. Plus did Hector really kill patuclus? And did he really dress like Achilles?

  • This movie is a mythological FUCK UP!FUCK YOU hollywood!Leave our history/mythology alone!

  • love this movie, i like hector, but achilles is so bad ass i love him lol

  • many mistakes... the true story was not like THAT!!

  • The film is lame, but the scene with ships kicks ass.

  • Does anyone know if there is an instrumental version of this trailer?

  • wow that tralier told me a lot

  • homer died a second time, watching this shit.

  • This is the best trailer they made

  • Discoveries in Troy suggest that the Greeks did not take 1.200 ships as the story goes, but more likely around 12 ships. Troy had a population of 5.000-10.000 at the time of the war (1.250B.C.), so 7.500 would be a good approximation. If the Greeks arrived in 12 ships each carrying 50 men, then that would total 600 Greek warriors.

  • @juva0525 i highly doubt the greeks only launched just 12 ships...they launched a pretty high amount that homer used his brillance in poetry to say 1000 ships

  • Very good movie, but it was very inaccurate too. Many things didn't happen as the movie told us. F.e. Hector didn't kill Ajax, Briseis didn't kill Agamemnon, Achilles didn't die inside of Troy and stuff like that... However it was a very good movie...

  • I Love This Movie!!!! Achilles was My Favorite Character In Here!! Y Did He Had 2 Die In Dee End??? Tears Roll down My Eyes ...I Love Da Romantic Part n Da Troy Song BEST Part... Excellent Movie Wolfgang Petersen!!!!!!

  • Really good movie.

  • I M really proud that i least know what its about read the book... tought history here iin greece before we judge the movie

  • Comment removed

  • its funny how so many people saw this and said that other people should have died and called it a bad movie when it was based of ancient mythology so these people who are commenting have no idea what the movie is about

  • @xxxDNABBRULESxxx yea but the trojan war did happen, as they found the site of troy...the burial grounds of ajax and agamemnon......weapon used during that era and bones that do reflect on war........n whats more interesting is the man that found the site of troy, he used the illiad as his guide

  • @BoricuaAlex O yea i knew that but people were saying that they wanted different characters to die but it actually happened so they had to die and the events had to happen

  • Very good movie. Long talking parts was the only boring thing in this movie really , but everything else was depressing, sad or full of violence. Sad but good! :D
