Why is Paint Tool Sai used mainly just for anime illustrations?

Is it appropriate to use for ordinary illustrastions and 3D type illustrations or should I be looking for a different program?

@yabipoisonouscolour Yeah you could use this for other things too, it just seems (for me at least) SAI is one of the easiest programs to use when making anime illustrations. but its not limited to just anime-type work.

download, extract and download media classic. after doing that, open the sai tut package using media classic and it shuld work. :]

I hate megaupload. It won't let me download the file. It says that I have exceeded bandwidth when I haven't even downloaded anything yet. Then it tells me to wait seven mins and try again.
