I'm a paranormal investigator and really wanted this tool for awhile. Did you know your hack is the only hack I could find on Youtube? besides that...it was the easiest to understand. You got right to the point...no irritating music, charm or worthless banter...hahaha and your right... this is 1 of the best for GhostBox..THANKYOU!!

I didn't realize this video was already 2 years old, wow, time really does fly by. After realizing this video was 2 years old and that you were still able to find the model radio, that's amazing. I just made one of these for my mother actually lol and was still able to find this same model as well, which I was surprised. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if shack was making..
@tracehd1 ..it harder for people to hack there own ghost box. This way is WAY cheaper than buying one of the "professional" ghost boxes. Maybe whoever makes the professional one is the one cutting a deal with the shack to make their radios harder to hack, who knows. I didn't realize my hack was the only one, when I made this video there were a lot of videos on different models, but it seems they have all died off. You are very very welcome tracehd1! Hey, so i bought the -589...took it apart and started cutting into the circuit board where it shows in your video. Put it back together and it didnt work...after trying again, and again..it still wont work correctly. Ive almost cut all the way through the circuit board and when i turn the radio on it does not scan the channels it just works like it did out of the box. ??? any help you can give me
@mikejm89 When you cut you should be able to "cut" away, or in my case, "scrape" away the green layer covering the bronze connector. After that you need to cut/scrape away at the bronze connector/strip until it no longer is a solid strip. In other words, you actually break the connection of the bronze strip. If you did that and the bronze strip is no longer a solid strip and it still doesn't work, there might be a chance that you are cutting the wrong one.

@zandj710 it has better quality IMO. it sounds better than the other radios i have experimented with and has a better radio signal hence, can pick up more stations. The EVPs I have picked up with this one sound more in the class B or class A EVPs rather than the harder-to-make-out class C.
