With all the money the vatican has and the political power we had. WHy did we not purchase r take this land of the via delorosa and make it a heritage site so merchants could not set up a shop where Jesus walked. INSANE!

I think it is a disgrace that ppl are selling bags & t-shirts where Jesus once walked as well!...but like alanheath said its ovious that many are going to visit it & many of those ppl are probably going to want to take back a souvenier so all the merchants there are always going to have booming business!

It is a heritage site! It is obvious that where a lot of people congregate, that people are going to sell things.
