  • surprised there wasnt an accident

  • I love driving through there. You just gotta be aggressive and pull out. If you guys can get through there you can get through anything driving lol. I live 5min away from there.

  • What a clusterfuck it is!I hate how if you want to get to most of the bars in worcester you have to travel through this fucking place!

  • Say what you want but this is the best example of good driving in the world! And I thank God that there isn't a traffic light at this square. If there was, it would cause 100 yard back-ups on I-290, Vernon St, Millbury St, Madison, Green, and Harding! Sometimes logic in driving must win. And it does here.

  • Kelley Sq is the most ridiculous intersection ever... Especially when these idiots stop when there's no stop sign lol. The only way my mom gets through that hell hole is if she pushes her way through with out letting anyone cut her off or anything. She get's through it like a breeze doing that. But it makes it a little difficult when you get these morons that like to take there sweet ass time sticking there nose out.. It's like you just want to push the fuckers lol.

  • this rode just sucks man i almost got hit a few times here

  • kelly square is nerve racking ...ppl get pulled over for being scared and stopping once they pull out

  • Fucking Death Trap!

  • My first formal road lesson, the driving instructor asked me, "Have you ever done a rotary before?" I replied nervously, "No," because I honestly hadn't. And guess where he sent me? Yup, Kelley Square. I was white-knuckling and screaming the whole time!

  • One time my cousin from Framingham was driving us around and we had to go through Kelly Square... he just yelled, "What the fuck is this?!"

  • When I first got my driver's license my mom told me that if I EVER drove thru Kelley Sq she'd take my car away. Of course that was an open invitation for me to do EXACTLY that. It turned into a hobby for me and now every time I drive thru there I hear my mom telling me in my mind "blah blah blah".... I LOVE driving through and looking at the other drivers faces with the white knuckles and sweat soaked faces trying to get through that intersection as I just barrel my way through... Love it!

  • The true test of a new driver.

  • i love this intersection it reminds me of driving in beirut...no signs and u have to squeeze ur car through and cut everyone off...i luv it

  • Kelley Square is the most fucked up traffic scenario in the United States. The problem is, there's like, 7 major streets that intersect there, and it's right fucking next to I-290, so they can't put a traffic light without the fear of traffic backing up onto the interstate, which would be BRUTAL. The one tip I've found helpful while driving through Kelley Square is don't stop for anything or anyone. It would almost be better to wear a blindfold and put a cinder block on the gas pedal.

  • If you ever see that one car that drives right through with disregard for those around them (and most likely in a gold Chevy Cavi) that was me...before my car got totaled

  • Despite never having an issue in Kelly Square after going through it on my drivers test, I have since learned every possible way to avoid it.

  • easy way to cross that intersection, its only close your eyes and press gas lol

  • this is where i learned to drive lol

  • I never seem to have any problem getting through this intersection. It seems to me that most drivers are courteous and there never seems to be a traffic jam whenever I've been there. The secret is not to become aggressive or hesitant. Inching along and respectfully keeping an eye out for those who seem to be apprehensive, allowing them to merge or cross always helps. The aggressive, disrespectful drivers create viral animosity. Being attentive, respectful, and moving slowly is the key :O)

  • The problem with Kelly Square isn't for people who go through it every day, they do just fine. The problem is for a college kid like myself to decide to pick up some Wings Over Worcester on the way out of town and look up directions to it, and try to get there at about 7pm when its just getting dark but still lots of traffic. I ended up going through it twice because I couldn't find my street the first time. Ithought I had stumbled into an alternate dimension with cars instead of billiard balls.

  • this intersection sucks big time

  • they have invisible green and red light haha lol

  • i use to hate to go thrue there But know i live in CT and i miss that street :)

  • Judging from the video, it looks like traffic moves pretty smoothly. Adding a traffic light or rotary here would surely make congestion worse. So I say, keep it like it is, let's not pander to those faint hearted drivers. Take the bus if you're too scared to drive in an area where you actually have to make decisions rather than just gas at green lights and brake at red ones.

  • This intersection is basically one where you can't go and then stop....You just have to commit to it when you start driving.

  • Some commuters called it Killer Sq. I lived very close to it at Vernon St. and I drove there almost everyday and had no problem getting through. Worcester might not be the best town in MA but it has its own character and charm.

  • All of you who are new to Worcester and are hungry go to Kelly Square Pizza and order large pepperoni with extra cheese, best pizza in Worcester I guarente it!

  • kelley square is pretty scary to drive thru. people just freaking go with out looking! =P

  • If you are polite in Kelley Square you will get killed! Take no prisoners is the only way!

  • Worcester's version of the Bermuda Triangle. It's not even a square. It should be renamed to Kelley Polygon.

  • ahh my hometown and the trick is never stop or change ur foot on the pedals just go!

  • This is so funny buy so true! If you are chicken to pull out you are going to sit there forever! I live on the west coast now, believe me I have not seen anything like Kelly Sq here!

  • Just a little history lesson. Kelley Sq. originally was a place to water horses. The middle of the intersection had a horse water trough in it where all the roads met. They removed the trough and just paved over the cobble stones after a while. The layout has not been changed from that time.

I LOVE this intersection and PRIDE myself on never having to hit the brakes entering from anyone of the roads. The rules are simple. Drive to show that you DO HAVE the right of way, and you will.

  • Gotta love Kelley Sq., Worcester wouldn't be the same without it! Showed my wife this video and when I go back to visit i'm gonna make her drive though at 5:00pm... o'h yeah her eyesight is really bad... and i'll videotape it..

  • hehehe. I hope I am not the car in back of her.

  • If you are a first timer driving through Kelly Square, do us all a favor, NEVER stop to let another car go by. If you are too scared and are going to inch your way through, do us all a favor, and GET OUT OF THE WAY!!! The rule of thumb is, once you start going, you DON'T STOP!

  • You ever listen to what your GPS says while going 122A South through KS? Right around the area of the Hotel Vernon, it tells you to turn right to stay on Vernon St., well, if you turn right, you are going on to 290W. Kind of the same way going 122A North. Just after passing KS Pizza, it tells you to turn right when you are actually bearing to the left.

  • Good 'ole Kelly Square. I heard they were talking about making Millbury St. a two way once again, and making Harding St. two way all the way through. Yet, KS is NOT in the state's top 10 for most dangerous intersection's.

  • I hate Kelley Square.

I hate Belmont and Lincoln street too. Tons of fucking cars. And when you have to cross the street, you have to be an inch away from the car just to pass in time not to get hit by the next passing car.

  • ah, i know!! its horrible!!

  • wow, this is really exciting. add this to the Worcester tourism site

  • This is the scariest and safest intersection I would say. Because of the'most dangerous' tag, every soul passing thru has to be extra cautious. You will rarely spot an accident at that point. Even the cops who have colonised the parking spot at the gas station know very well that there are no rules at KS. They can only stop you for not stopping for pedestrians 90% of the time.

  • I despise kelly sq!!

  • lol why dude i love the damn place! i miss Worcester! i hate Philly!

  • AHHH I HATE Kelley Square

  • this intersection blows, takes me like 20 min to get though, and if i try to be a masshole and cut people off, id prob get shot or sideswipped

  • Comment removed

  • i live right on vernon st.

    i love worcester!

  • How I miss Kelly Square in a freaky kind of way.

When I was a teenager, Kelly Square was my inspiration to drive the wrong way down all one way streets in Worcester. I use to drive my friends nuts.

  • its ACTUALLY Kelley square. So don't try to correct me if YOU are wrong!!

  • @Optophobia It ACTUALLY started out as Vernon Sq. It was renamed after the WW 1 hero Cornelius Kelly. SO says the bearded man at the hotel vernon! lol

  • Even the cops get confuse when to yield or go when they get there.. I miss that place.

  • Hehehe -- I "accidentally" had a friend drive through this intersection ... she got scared and just stopped. I think she ended up getting honked at by 9 different people.

  • this intersection fuckin sucks

  • i like to bring my out of state friends to this intersection and let them drive. this has got to be the most ludicrous intersection in America

  • i used to be terrified of kelly square.

you're pretty much fucked if you stop, or hesitate. keep driving!

  • i used to live in worcester:( iwanna go back

kelly sq was always a mess

  • this is where i got hit ridin my bikes with my friends

  • realy?!

  • i live on vernon

  • ha ha :19 was me drivin LOL

  • My mom goes through here like beasly.

Shes mad skilled at this shit.

Dont go there around 5:00 it sucks

  • Oh man do I remember this! You have to be brave or nuts to get through it.

  • Kelly Sq is the Traffic Engineers nightmare - it has ~ 7 legs & 2 "foci". "Caution" is the password!

Two Roundabouts might straighten it out! :-)

  • Or one Magic Roundabout :-)

  • I remember when I was getting my drivers license, my first lesson I had to drive through Kelly Square. The kid in the back seat was flipping out, but I'd been through there so many times as a passenger, I was fine!

  • my wifes from fla. im from worc. when i took her through kelly sq. for the first time she shit her pants!!! now she understands why us massholes are the best and most pist off drivers in america.!!!!!!GO PATS!!!!!!

  • Oh my god, the scariest intersection ever. If you're not familiar with it, that's not even busy traffic.

  • close them eyes and just hit the gas!

  • this intersection sucks! And i use it every day to get down town,

  • I avoid it at all costs

  • i recently saw on tv this is the most dangerous intersection in america.

  • would love to see this from more angles ... maybe so you can see up the hill to the light and more trafic.

  • I close my eyes when I go through this intersection.

    Great video

  • that's really all you can do

and just hope you make it out alive lol

  • Yea. That is a very dangerous intersection.

  • wtf i saw my car in there mwhahaha im on youtube in a toyota
