I can't speak to primitive Biblical allegories, but what the Pope said about condoms has been misrepresented. What advocates of birth control have been arguing is that condoms will help reduce the spread of AIDS, but they may have the opposite effect. If people who use them get the idea that sex with infected people is suddenly safe because you are wearing one, they'll inevitably get an unpleasant surprise. It's a bit like telling people smoking is safe so long as your cigarette has a filter.
@mikeloaf Filters do help prevent people getting cancer from cigarettes. They are not a foolproof means of doing so, but they are a good idea - IF the understanding is likewise communicated that smoking is dangerous.
You should like the analogy. If one must smoke, filters are a good idea. If the Pope demanded that no one use filters on cigarettes because "filters are the Devil", you'd have a point. But I don't think that's the argument being made.

I can't speak to primitive Biblical allegories, but what the Pope said about condoms has been misrepresented. What advocates of birth control have been arguing is that condoms will help reduce the spread of AIDS, but they may have the opposite effect. If people who use them get the idea that sex with infected people is suddenly safe because you are wearing one, they'll inevitably get an unpleasant surprise. It's a bit like telling people smoking is safe so long as your cigarette has a filter.

You should like the analogy. If one must smoke, filters are a good idea. If the Pope demanded that no one use filters on cigarettes because "filters are the Devil", you'd have a point. But I don't think that's the argument being made.

A lightning and an atom that came from who knows where, touched, creating billions upon billions of miles of space in every direction. Coincidentally, a planet called Earth was formed during this process giving birth to creatures such as fish. Over millions of years these fish then started to grow legs and became mammals. Then they transformed into what is now known as man. Man is a complex being with a large brain capacity for storing knowledge and memories. This all just happened from nothing.

I don't think that they're all stupid. Some of them are smart, but because they've been brainwashed with that "faith" bullshit, they just choose to have irrational beliefs. But because of their choice to believe and follow theirs (or any other) religion, the ones that aren't stupid are still extremely naive, which is just a step away from stupid.
