Houzan Sensei, I wanted to thank you for posting these videos and working so hard to teach people like me. I think what you are doing is great. Besides I wanted to know what kind of samue you wear, I searched on the internet but I couldn't finde one like yours. Thanks again
Pretty cool, I learned alot from this video Shishou, thank you for your generosity^^. I also have a question, what would be a good target? I use a box now, flatten and nailed to a peice of wood, but the box wears out to quick, and the shuriken don't stick.
You can buy this book in "Korisuya"of You-Tube user " scottbaioisdead "
This book is about 360 pages.
Various conception is written about shuriken.
History, culture, the right recipe, right throwing, the right way of using. Also false breakthrough in a fable in Ninja story.
However, because it is very technical, the people who doesn't understand Japanese can't understand.
You will make a terrible mistake if you watch only photography and imitate.

Houzan-Kyoshi, whould you tell me why "no spin" knives are long and slender, as opposes to spinning knives that i've used?
airbourne185 3 years ago
By the way, please correct me if "kyoshi" is improper.
airbourne185 3 years ago
Kyosi is independent word.
For example, we do not say Houzan-Kyosi.
In Japan, prefix for a teacher is,
n-"sensei" n-"sihan"
It is n-"Lao-shi" in China.
I do not mind in Houzan simply in case of me.

Suzuki Sensei,
may I ask, what is the purpose of the drill at 4:35? Can you please explain?
Arigato from Singapore. *bow* : )
zeong77 3 years ago
The reason is because it uses the hand which is not handedness.
I throw light pen toward ceiling.
I hit ceiling so that the pen does not turn at all.
Pen hits ceiling by "remote position from a hand."
It becomes with a result restraining a snap motion.
In addition, this is a practice to move arm straight.
Therefore this is a basic practice of No-spin.

If there is your friend in Japan please ask friend.
Many clothes for the Japanese martial arts is exported.
However, I think that Samue is hardly exported by Japan.
In addition, European and American people are long-legged.
However, Japanese Samue is made by length of a foot of a Japanese.
In addition, if there is a Zen temple in Germany please try to ask a person of Zen temple.
Because they wear samue at the time of working.
HouzanSuzuki 3 years ago
However, I do not intend to say that "cut your foot".
Enough for today?

what kind of clothes do you wear in those videos ?
KazuoKariyama 3 years ago
Do you live in Japan?
Please try to search it in"作務衣"
It is casual wear called "Samue" in Japan.
It is general that a ceramist and an old Japanese artist and priest and a person of craftsman wear at the time of job.
Because it is work clothes, it is not formal clothes.

are throwing needles real? and if so, where can i buy them?
FUZZEYMONKEY 4 years ago
I beg your pardon.I do not sell it.
Because, these most are my personal trial products.
HouzanSuzuki 4 years ago
It sell only in Japanese some bookstores.
But in a person looking at these pictures,
I can give it free.
But only a person "uploading a picture" of one's martial arts or a picture of one's knife throwing or Shuriken throwing.
In other words I can present it to the person whom "really practice throwing or martial arts".
Please an interesting person give an email.
But I increase so long as a person uploading "one's training scenery"on you-tube.
