I am MOVED by this young man's story. How can a mother be so COLD to have her child go through all that ordeal, and after all that he had been through, supported that bastard of an ABUSIVE father by throwing him out the house? Do those people know what SIN is? My heart melts to hear this young man admitting that he is ready to 'forgive' them. The damage done by the so-called Christian church STINKS!

omg i am a christian and i know there have to be so many enclaves and small groups where people practice their own experimental mind manipulation on themselves and are happy to do it to other people. I cant believe this guy is giving his parents that chance. sam should just remember that everytime they see him it will totally expose their actions and they will probably buck wildly against God and the mirror that Sam automatically provides his family. what a great guy.

Sam -- please don't put yourself in physical danger any more. You can contact your parents by writing to them, if you must. At a deep level, all children want to love their parents and want their parents to know that they love them. We do it even when they are abusing us. The hardest thing to do is respect ourselves enough to never let them abuse us again, even if it means we have to grieve the loss of that relationship. You are so full of life and love. I have a friend who is ex-Mormon and this echos soooo close to his story. It brought me to tears, I remember my friend curled up on my couch with his head in my lap sobbing telling me about what happened... I knew he was from Utah, but nothing else really ever was said until one day he saw someone he went to school with in Hollywood with me... the woman literally RAN the other way. It was gut wrenching. I felt that come back listening to this. He's an inspiration showing love still...

Dude, fuck your parents for not loving you as you. God created you, not the devil. They don't seem to understand that.

I know you want to have that nurturing and love most people get from parents, but you would be much smarter if you looked for that love somewhere else. There are a lot of older gay men that would adopt you and treat you like a son.
