Yes, I agree, it's his timing, phrasing and subtlety that make him unique.
He's also in total control. Watch how he turns to face the amp, coaxing a hint of feedback out of it when he needs more sustain. Fascinating. A master at work!

@nunestunes I reckon he could play this piece on virtually any guitar / amp combination and it would still sound fantastic.
I actually prefer this version to the original recording from the sixties. It's more mellow and played with even more feeling.
@PlayMoreBlues well he does everything with such great feeling but i love the feedback elongated notes
