Doing some internet research on "the new fruit grower" tells of MM111 being "shallow" rooted. I doubt MM111 is close to being shallow rooted....look at the anchoring roots in this video of MM111. Other sources on the net say MM111 is the most drought tolerant of apple rootstocks. Goes to show you, don't trust whatever you read on the net.
