  • They should have made them pick up their feces and trash.

  • every gathering of people requires mediating

what is needed is more people volunteering in a position to help 'trouble makers' be held accountable, so the many other people who gather can focus on their cause and reasons for practising there rights to voice aloud , in public, and share their protest.

  • at this point, which park were they in?

  • So i guess this means when health problems set in from what you were doing or you started freezing in the winter, you wouldn't help yourselves to any of that free medical care right?

  • ok, aside from sarcasm and finger pointing, my daughter was one of the protesters when this started and she was very peacefully involved and still is. While I understand that we need to keep watch so that undesirable behavior doesn't become a problem, violence and abuse of power is never a proper solution. If we choose not to say anything when an obvious wrong has been done then we are all to blame for the consequences. Occupation is the least invasive form of protest and hurts no one.

  • @Pepsihfx78 well thank you for making my point for me..i actually work, so if you need a few bucks.. :)

  • @intowhite09 No thanks I got plenty :)

  • Let's get one thing straight people. You have the right to protest. You do not have the right to occupy. There's a difference. Canada is not allowed to occupy another country. What makes you think you are allowed to occupy us?

  • I've been looking at a few of the videos posted here on You Tube and I read the comments and what I see is pretty much the same on each..the people who are against the protest seem to be very accusatory while the people who are for the protest seem to have a more calm and logical state of mind..the ones who are protesting have been accommodating and peaceful while the police and politicians have been actively aggressive..who do I want to listen to? hmmm, I wonder..

  • @intowhite09 Oh sorry! Let me talk more like you so you can understand. "Spare any change?"

  • I didn't have alot of respect for Mayor Kelly. Now I do. I've never voted in a city election before. Maybe I should start.

  • OMG Finally! I was getting tired of seeing all those Vagrants and homeless people bumming change off everyone. Why the hell couldn't they have done this sooner? All it was was a bunch of unemployed bums who dont work and have done nothing but bumm change for the last 15 years whining that they dont have enough. So let me say it for the rest of Halifax, " WE ARE SICK OF PAYING FOR YOU BUMS TO CAMP OUT, WHY SHOULD WE PAY FOR YOU TO PLUNK YER ASSES WHERE YOU PLEASE?" You lost "NOW DEAL!"

  • @Pepsihfx78 This might be tough for you to understand, but when there are more unemployed people than jobs, everyone can't get a job! Also, if the NS protest is anything like the ones in America, most of them actually are employed.

More importantly, you should think about why it's acceptable for the top ~5% of individuals to see their incomes greatly increase while median income remains stagnant. You don't have an argument; you're disagreeing out of spite!

  • @BenkaiDebussy We have 3 jobs up for grabs now. The problem is all the jobs are for skilled workers. And I would hardly call any of the people I saw camped out there as a skilled worker. I would not hire one of you with your face tattoos and piercings everywhere. If you want people to take you seriously. Clean yourself the hell up! I was sympathetic to your cause, until you allowed the homeless people to move in. Then you got my attention, and now you don't like it. Too Bad! sucks 2 b u.

  • Good to see all the shills and the self appointed guardians of the status quo at work here. Thanks for outing yourselves and may the ass you kiss taste like it's worth it...lol

  • As a Halifax born and bred person who moved to Corner Brook three years ago, I'm really ashamed that Mayor Peter Kelly double crossed the protesters and Haligonian people.

If Occupy protesters want to target a particular business, they should try Emera and Nova Scotia Power for constantly gouging Nova Scotians, Americans, St. Lucians, and Bahamians with large power rate increases every year.

  • I live close to this park and they were urinating on nearby buildings, getting into brawls amongst themselves and doing drugs. Not to mention the sudden influx of street beggars on Spring Garden who will curse at you under their breath if you politely tell them you can't spare change. Good move by Mayor Peter Kelly. I've never voted for him in the past but he's earned my vote next time he runs.

  • @shawneboy666 You upload videos of female volleyball players' butts. Your opinion is irrelevant.

  • @vincentvining Glad to see you're a fan of my videos.

  • @vincentvining

Oh come on Vince; that is hardly a way to judge someone.

If anything uploading videos of female volleyball player's butts makes him the true 99%....

  • @shawneboy666

I thought it was a hilarious trick move on his part... lolol

  • Like it or not we all have the same rights, and you cannot judge all by a few bad apples, they point is their message and their right to make that message heard, not be shut down by force.

  • @Darksider902

Yes and they made their point weeks ago

It's now time to go back to mommy's basement

  • @ch703398 I have friends who are at the park posting on FB the peopel being maced, and as for coherent statements check out Occupy NS website if you want to find out what they are protesting and why, then maybe you would have a clue and would realize we are all being hurt when we are removed by force from practicing our democratic rights.

  • It is a pathetic day in this country when a mayor evicts and police mace people who are practicing their Democratic right to protest peacefully,As a resident of the HRM Mayor Peter Kelly has to go.Instead of working with the protesters you use force, not democratic at all and I hope you pay for it Mayor Kelly with your job!Especially of all days to do this when our veterns lay down their lives for our right to freedoms!

  • @Darksider902 Yes, You're an idiot. Vets did not risk their lives so unemployed hippies, gypsies and hobos could camp overnight in tents pissing and shitting on our public parks. Kelly's letter clearly states they are allowed to assemble and protest during the same hours and laws which apply to me as well. Just because they are protesting does not mean they are "above the law". The police from the videos seemed very professional and respectful.

  • @Darksider902 They are abusing their right to freedom of speech. I want to camp out on their front lawn and see how they feel about it

  • @Darksider902

Since when is monopolizing public land for your own specific use and denying your fellow citizen fair and equal enjoyment "practicing their Democratic right"? These protestors are the biggest hypocrites ever. They talk about corporate environmental stewardship while they destroy our common parks. They speak of declining social services while not contributing themselves. Fuck these junkie jackass’s and practise personal responsibility before preaching to others

  • @KyoNingyo I want you to follow through with your logic. Let's say everyone "practices personal responsibility." What do you think would happen? Do you believe jobs would spontaneously appear for the unemployed? That the (currently) low paying jobs society requires to function will work themselves if the poor pull themselves up by their bootstraps? Do you think that millions of people suddenly become lazy during economic downturns?

The problem is that your reasoning don't make any sense.

  • This should have NOT been done today. Today was about remembering what our Soldiers have done for us so that we CAN protest peacefully!

  • @skaarlett1 Protest.. not set up hobo camps downtown.

  • Thank you Peter Kelly you have my vote for listening to the real 99%. They made both City Hall and Victoria Park Stink so bad. These people are abusing the right to freedom of assembly and it is about time these hippies got kicked out. They should start looking for work instead of protesting

  • @TheLouisXXI Well Said

  • @skelhorns Also the city should send them the cost to evict them too I do not want my taxes to pay for this

  • Good riddance.

  • About damn time.

  • what's the number they're telling people to call on their cell phones?

  • About time. 99% of Canadians are happy the trash has been taken out

  • @skelhorns You're an idiot sir.

  • @skelhorns Yeah, the right to peaceful protest and free assembly are dumb. Jackass.

  • Comment removed

  • @skelhorns Most of the local residents likely are. This whole Occupy movement was ridiculous from the start.
