here's the deal. I have 3 folders in my usb drive. every time I open my usb, 3 .exe files with the same folder names as my original folders appear. if you click it, you will be directed to a hidden folder in the usb that contains the original folders.
what is this virus????? can ubuntu delete this?? im still downloading the installer.
hey zeno...thx for replying before and sorry 2 bother u again but now when i try 2 boot the pc i get a message saying: MP-Bios bug: timer not connected to IO-APIC.........boot with APIC.....then try booting with NOAPIC option.....can i fix it or it needs a prof?
@EgYpTgIrL22 That's quite odd, you may have a bios batter on the motherboard that is running low and cannot keep the timer/system clock going. you can get into the bios and check the settings for the APIC to get into the bios try hitting f1, f2, Del, or Esc when the machine is first starting up. pressing Tab should tell you what one to press and give you more information. I have never seen this problem in the years I have been doing this but thats my best recommendation.
thats cute but what about ppl who dont know much about pcs like me?...I have the ubuntu cd and I have a virus but I dont know where its at....I do know the virus came from the Limewire prog while I was downloading a song...how do I remove it?
@EgYpTgIrL22 All you have to do is go over the icon that the virus uses. right click, go to properties and write down the target. This will be like C:\Program Files\example\virus.exe Then you launch ubuntu. The Host folder plays the part of C:\ in which case your file location would be Host\Program Files\example\virus.exe, then once you find the program you do not want or virus in ubuntu just send it to the trash.
@pug1134 that works for alot of stuff, so does msconfig for stopping alot of the pop up issues but sometimes you just cannot work in a windows environment with these problems.
this doesnt help very much. You should note to people that they will need to know where the location of the virus! No to mention running a ubuntu based virus scanner!
I noted how to find the location by using the windows shortcut. Using a ubuntu virus scanner can be hard, not to mention wi-fi restricted proprietary drivers and other things that may prevent someone from using internet access on a laptop or desktop, Many ubuntu virus scanners are also written to read in the Ubuntu file system and not a host hard drive I wanted to demonstrate a way to do this even without internet or knowledge of the Ubuntu OS.
please sir, - have all my internets.
thankyou.

OR you could go into regedit and reenable task manager then end the process and delete it from the registry.............MUCH easier.
