I don't have any problem with the speech itself (the message sounds like a good one, actually) - but two things stood out as very weird. 1.) the "educational" materials which accompanied the speech (eg, read O's books, how can kids 'help' O, his ed speeches) and 2.) the timing. unlike Reagan, he's not explaining to kids something like the Challenger dis.. he just coincidentally wants to "talk to them" the day before the day before he addresses a joint session of Congress on healthcare reform.
