I live in the Faroe Islands where there is quite cold, but not freezing that much (unless it's winter). Do you think there are some hops you could grow here?
i live in Los Angeles and i planted 6 plants how often do you water your plants, and also ive notice some of my leaves been eaten by caterpillars what do you suggest.
i got some zues and glaciers going good. it's my first year and my glacier hop plant is about the size of those. your little hop yard ain't so little anymore. nice work billyd. what do you use for ferts?
how many shoots do you train on each string and do you snip off the extras? the hops look fantastic, this is my first year growing and there doing good but not nearly like your's
The first year I trained all the shoots. This year there has been and still has tons of shoots coming up. I trained 3 shoots per string and two strings per hill.
I have 1 cascade that is maybe 8 in. long. A cat killed my other cascade as it was showing signs of growth. Luckily I was there to hurl a beer bottle at it. Needless to say I haven't seen the cat lately.
I guess I will kick back with my friend envy and watch your success :)
