Um hello? FNL is a freakin' tv show (NOT REAL), and totally scripted by the writer/ director. It what they call a "SPOOF", and was inserted into the episode for humor, but also played into the scene, in that Coach Taylor needed to see what was most important in his job and in life. That's it.
It may be Leach's llast cameo, as there are not many tv shows about high school football up in Washington.
