  • I thought putting a computer together was very complex, but you really made it look simple, Thank you!

  • Awesome.great work.but u forgot to mount a fan on the casing panel..??

  • 1000€ isn't cheap!

  • @Kawamen99

It was back in the day!

  • @Kawamen99 right now the same thing will be like 400 euros XD

  • Love the guide mate :D

    Informative, short and interesting :D

  • great man but only for people who get along with computers oh and does anybody know what the differens between barbones and normal pc cases is?

  • I maybe would build my own computer and this helped me alot!!! It do not look so hard like i thought but it is hard and i will try. If i can afford to buy the parts :S

  • Save yourself $180+ and use Ubuntu Linux it's free, secure, works great and you won't be feeding the Microsoft beast & letting Gates funnel information about you to the Feds!!

  • Good job , I like it

  • good information! I approve!

  • hey man thanks great video now i rdy to build my own :D

  • guy is explaining well.eventhough he has poor hardware and not sita but vishita shit home version of os.

  • If you're replacing your hard drive what software do you need to have? or rather is necessary to have? (other than your OS)

  • Drivers for your motherboard and video card.

  • I thought you wasted a little too much money on extras, i would have gotten a better processor.

  • thanks for the guide! unfortunately, it feels out-of-date, but still nails all the proper stages for assembly. I'd like to see a new computer assembled in an Antec 1200 case with an ati radeon 5850 graphics card, but haven't found a video like that yet.

  • Thank you very much for this video....This explains a lot...Thanks from my heart....

  • Eh, He assumes that were all using the same products as he does. Even though he shows us all of the products being put in, this isn't a universal guide.

  • This video is 2 years old so some of the hardware is outdated (espescially the floppy drive).

However, for the most part, consumer desktops have been standardized to a good extent with the exception of All-In-One and Compact designs. So if you're building a mid to full size tower, you'll find most of this information relavent.

I'd like to add though, that you should use an anti-static bracelet and attach it to a grounded object before building a PC.

  • Who said that it was a universal guide?

  • Er....

shouldn't there be another slot on the Power AC , for power for the Monitor or that was it,....

  • Interesting point. I can't really tell from this video but it could be an older monitor. I believe some of the original lcd's did not require plug in, because they tried to make them wireless, but that obviously failed was a dumb thought process.

    Good point though.

  • what about sound what is it that enables sound the motherboard, proccessor or do you have to buy a sound card? and install that 2

  • actually the sound card is situated with the sound holes...(you know what i mean)

  • Wooooo, thanks soooo much. This guide helps A LOT, only for a rough guide, even if it is overpriced and outdated. Saved a lot. Price: £820 Specs: -Intel i7 920 -Nvidia GTX 285 1gb -3gig Kingston HYPERX DDR3 Ram -1TB Samsung F2 Ecogreen -Aerocool II Case -Akasa Processor Cooler -22x LG Supermulti Burner Hopefully once my copy of Windows 7 arrives It will do the job. I ask for too much out of my PCs. Oh if your a student you get Windows 7 pro for £30. :D
  • this helps alot.

  • thanx it was a nice overview of what i need

  • thx for this

  • Cool.

  • I'm a computer builder. You can put everything on the motherboard outside of the machine. BE CAREFUL OF THE STATIC SHOCK!!! IT CAN PERMANTLY WRECK YOUR MACHINE.

  • he forgot to tell you all how to set the jupers for the hard drives he did on the cd butt with the psp mouse and key bord this is a vid from last year if you go to build a new one make not you have to get usb kind they dont sale or make the anykind any more and than this guy wast the new pc with vista would been bettere off installing win7 beta or just plain built a mac one lmao

  • you said this was a year ago... they didnt have win7...

  • There aren't any jumpers for SATA drives...

  • You don't have to partition the hard drives before installing the OS?

Or does the Vista installer do that for you?

  • dude man this guy plugged in so many damn wires and didn't even show us where, he just plugged 'em in. like we know where they go, that's the whole reason we watched this in the 1st place.

  • this is more of a guide. prior knowledge is key.

  • @rottentomato11 That's the reason why I'm here :P

  • u need to watch part 4 for the wiring ...

  • in the previous video... you can see that the motherboard comes with a guide to help you put the wires.

  • hey what about all the cd's for the cards and drives? do you install after the whole thing is finished?

  • Ather he install vista he will install all drivers.

  • They are usually drivers and software to run of optimize the componant. You should download the drivers from there site and use the cd if you want the software on it. (eg, for printers, mp4 players)

You use them after installing the os.

  • install lamps with some colors in the pc and it will be more nicer

  • nice english

  • wow that whoas cool XDXDXDXDXDXDXDXDXD

  • can u install windows xp in one hard drive and windows vista in the other?

  • possibly yes. its called Dual-Booting and its been around for a while

  • thank you for the video,=)

  • u have a question wat is linux i no it is a os is it mac or somet and how u get it free??

  • easy:

    case

    motherboard

    wires+power supply

processor,ram,dvd/cd rw, video card, sound card, and ethernet card

and most importantly free os from linux

cost about $400 to $700 USD

  • ALL OF THAT IS LIKE 800 TO 900 DOLLARS!

  • i like the case more then the computer it self = )

    great vid ty...

  • Thanks for these insightful videos C.S. You guys are the teck mentors that PC users learn from.

Blessings to you and your business as well.

  • uuuh does anyone know to buy the windows vista CD?

  • dude you go to futureshop or bestbuy and buy it lol

    = )

  • never heard of futureshop.. but yeah best buy was like the first place i would consider going to for that.. the chix at geek squad are hot!

  • torrenting windows FTW

  • i build computers for free and i was wondering can i have his vista disc

  • Im building my first pc soon im quite scared :( but watching thru your videos makes me feel abit more able to do it :) thanks

  • You don't install the BIOS, the BIOS is on the motherboard. And you just boot from the windows CD and follow through.

  • i don't tend to follow through... it gets a bit messy!

also agreed with your statement good sir.

  • can i ask about the bios?

he install the operating system without installing the bios?

    is it right?

  • i think the bios is preinstalled on the motherboard

  • hahahh i see... bios is a firmware^_^..

i reformat my rig and i found that bios do not need to install^_^..

    its part of the board^_^..

  • Same here. My dad knows nothing about it and he said I shouldn't do it because if I screw up then I lose my money. But it's hard to screw up but the problem is that almost nobody I know, knows how to build a pc so I'm on my own with these vids.

    Great tut!

  • Great vids. Im going to build my first soon and these videos are making me less anxious about doing it on my own.

  • 1- you never mentioned cable management

2- Microsoft went to shit, Mac is overpriced, fuck both of them Ubuntu Linux ftw

  • Unless you get either OS from not-so-legal ways :P

  • i have ubuntu and a vista partition for games, it works good /thumbsup.

  • I would hate to go to all that work to build a beautiful computer and then put... windows on it.

  • That the ultimate Irony all that work to install Vista at the end!

  • thanks for this 5 part vid love it

  • I am getting ready for my first build, and I really appreciate you posting this five-part video. It was very helpful. Thank you.

  • great

  • I am going to build a pc for the first time next month

  • Good luck.

  • Soon I'll have to be building a computer too =s my dad said he'll pay for it because "it's good if I know how things work" I'm quite excited and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in :P

  • Good for you man and good luck.

  • i wish my dad would pay for the parts i need

im havin to work for all my money =\

  • i wanna build my own one as soon as i finish uni ...in 2010 lol but hopefully there will be better spec by then and also cheaper :P

  • he forgot to mention on first boot you should probably go into BIOS, make sure the motherboard picked everything up OK and then change it so that it will boot the CD drive first.

  • does anyone know how to configure a motherboard if so plz state or state a website that shows how to configure one =)

  • ew. vista

  • matthew, you should of taught us how to install an operating system. it wont hurt to show us how. =[

  • Dude, installing an operating system is free and easy. The only thing you gotta know how to do is read. Windows does the rest!

  • how is it free? dont u have to buy the software?

  • uh... You can if you're very patriotic, and you don't know shit about the computer. Otherwise everything I get is Free. Beside the computer of course. *just for the record, I get 100% good stuff (legit)*<-- anything! lol

  • I love torrents.

    =]

  • I hate Torrents. It's just that Bill Gates is my cuzzin, and I get whatever I want from him. Torrents are highly illegal, and you will be in alot of trouble one day because of them. With the new release of Windows 7 torrents will be blacklisted.

  • lmfao I'm just kidding, I'm using torrents. lmao

  • WOW thnx for the vid sooooooo much nice work well done ummmmmmmm good job bravo u get point thnx

  • so is there a video about how to set up a bios setting?? Cause thats wat im mainly afraid of, one screw up can mess everything up and the performance of your computer or compatilibilty.

  • same here

  • I lol's when i saw the sony logo right below the microsoft logo. Sony and Microsoft don't mix.

  • excellent tutorial!

  • wow great you guys r awesome!

  • This was going so well, then you had to end it on such a lowpoint with installing vista.

    I'm disappointed.

  • they dont sell xp anymore what choice does he have.... OPRESSION!!

  • shadow2271 i beg to differ they did not stop selling windows xp they stopped making it, so any stores like best buy or circuit city that usually has large stocks of items like this will still sell windows xp.

  • Yeah, because Microsoft is totally the only ones that make an operating system.

  • you cant buy a mac os you have to get the mac it self. lynix sucks its full of holes and errors no one would prefer it if it wasnt free and what else are there? none that i know of beside believe it or not microsoft has a technical monopoly

  • 1: Not true. 2: Definitely not true. There are millions of people who use Linux that wouldn't touch Windows if they were paid.

Yeah, MS has a monopoly because people think the way the person I was responding to does. They don't even realize there are alternatives.

And you're just an idiot that doesn't have a clue what they're talking about.

  • Yeah, but Windows kicks ass at games. :P

I am also using Windows for everything! I don't know why people hate on it so much. I use it for Web-Design, Graphic design, Video Design, and even 3D design!

Windows never failed me. However, I'm scared to switch to Vista. (at the current moment).

  • I have vista on the computer i'm using atm and its really good! Fast, loads of memory, all programs seem to work fine... and the graphics are superb :P

  • Also, it's spelled "Linux". Stupid.

  • It's a let down for an OS but it's not terrible if you boot it directly from build and have 2GB of RAM...

  • hey can u make a video about replace ur old computer to a new computer cases please ty

  • thank goodness this is exactly wat i needed

  • charging*

  • wow I fix computers ... but i dont mess with hardware just software.... this video made me go from charing 20-30 bucks an hour to 50 an hour lol!! straight up

  • thanks you

  • what happened to the video card

  • first boot up always something fail. happened to me twice this is some good videos. thanks for sharing

  • isn't a multimedia PC one that conects your computer to your t.v.? he didn't add a flash graphics card?

  • Well, I think multimedia is a sort of catch all term that companies are using to market their pc systems with that have higher specifications and can handle more data such as when working in media projects(ie: video/music editing etc.) However, if you would like to have your own dvr/pvr or just watch satellite or cable tv from your pc, all you need to do is buy a tv tuner and install it. You can get a great one for about 100 US dollars. I found one for $135 that is very impressive.

  • Quick question, does the Vista Home Premium OEM version come with the disc and the activation code is mailed to you, or am I completely wrong? Answer please.

  • this 5 videos are the best ;-)they are very interesting

  • this is great! i think i can build one on my own but i heard that you need to install the harddrive. does it automatically install it when you install the windows vista premium?

  • lol u dont install the hard drive you install vista on the hard drive the hard drive is the storage

  • i feel smarter

  • he dosent talk about configuring the bios and shit

he just poped the disk in

do u have to configure the bios first or can u do that? anybuddy

  • No, the computer automatically configs the bios at first boot. If you wish to edit the default bios config then you have to enter setup.

  • thx man this is my first build just try n to get it all figured out before i just jump into things i pretty sure now i understand everything and get it right!!!

  • you don't got hair

  • Thanks Mathew for these tutorial vids!

    very helpful! ;)

  • what makes a gaming computer like ex processer motherboard ram graphics card?

  • A little of everything, but mainly the graphics card(s) and RAM. you want at Least 2gb of RAM for a decent gaming comp.

  • vista works finw if your not an idiot and know how to download the right updates.

  • NOO NOT WINDOWS VISTAAAAA

    u wasted a good computer :(

  • we dont give a shit, stfu this one is good

  • great guide but he make some stupit comments about every thing he did ..if u noticed

  • It's a decent guide but I wouldn't want that guy to build me a pc (that I would do it myself is besides the point) because he is quite messy/sloppy. I noticed lots of little things like how hard he pressed the keyboard and mouse plugs in, closing the disk drive tray, putting in the psu, and more of these little things.

  • i agree that he is a little rough at the end, but throughout most of the vid he was careful and he did a great job of showing others how to build a computer

  • BEST VIDEOS EVER...............

  • thanks for uploading those tutorials i can honestly say they are the best i have seen thanks again :D

  • This whole thing was just amazing

     I loved it

  • Great guide 10/10

  • omg my computer is show noob it haas 9,30 GB and free space is 6,25 gb

  • I know that, However my main point was that he pointed to the vga port that is connected to the motherboard, as a guy pointed out below, I missed him plugging in the DVI to the video card.

  • However your tutorial is the best I have seen so far.

  • Uh the VGA port you pointed to is setup so that it would use the onboard video of your motherboard. Which in general onboard video sucks. Plus then it means you wasted $90 for a video card.

  • Yeah you're right I did miss that, however he did later point to the vga port that is connected to the motherboard's onboard video.

  • Thx for this video :D
