I maybe would build my own computer and this helped me alot!!! It do not look so hard like i thought but it is hard and i will try. If i can afford to buy the parts :S
Save yourself $180+ and use Ubuntu Linux it's free, secure, works great and you won't be feeding the Microsoft beast & letting Gates funnel information about you to the Feds!!
thanks for the guide! unfortunately, it feels out-of-date, but still nails all the proper stages for assembly. I'd like to see a new computer assembled in an Antec 1200 case with an ati radeon 5850 graphics card, but haven't found a video like that yet.
Eh, He assumes that were all using the same products as he does. Even though he shows us all of the products being put in, this isn't a universal guide.
This video is 2 years old so some of the hardware is outdated (espescially the floppy drive).
However, for the most part, consumer desktops have been standardized to a good extent with the exception of All-In-One and Compact designs. So if you're building a mid to full size tower, you'll find most of this information relavent.
I'd like to add though, that you should use an anti-static bracelet and attach it to a grounded object before building a PC.
Interesting point. I can't really tell from this video but it could be an older monitor. I believe some of the original lcd's did not require plug in, because they tried to make them wireless, but that obviously failed was a dumb thought process.
Wooooo, thanks soooo much. This guide helps A LOT, only for a rough guide, even if it is overpriced and outdated. Saved a lot. Price: £820 Specs: -Intel i7 920 -Nvidia GTX 285 1gb -3gig Kingston HYPERX DDR3 Ram -1TB Samsung F2 Ecogreen -Aerocool II Case -Akasa Processor Cooler -22x LG Supermulti Burner Hopefully once my copy of Windows 7 arrives It will do the job. I ask for too much out of my PCs. Oh if your a student you get Windows 7 pro for £30. :D
I'm a computer builder. You can put everything on the motherboard outside of the machine. BE CAREFUL OF THE STATIC SHOCK!!! IT CAN PERMANTLY WRECK YOUR MACHINE.
he forgot to tell you all how to set the jupers for the hard drives he did on the cd butt with the psp mouse and key bord this is a vid from last year if you go to build a new one make not you have to get usb kind they dont sale or make the anykind any more and than this guy wast the new pc with vista would been bettere off installing win7 beta or just plain built a mac one lmao
dude man this guy plugged in so many damn wires and didn't even show us where, he just plugged 'em in. like we know where they go, that's the whole reason we watched this in the 1st place.
They are usually drivers and software to run of optimize the componant. You should download the drivers from there site and use the cd if you want the software on it. (eg, for printers, mp4 players)
Same here. My dad knows nothing about it and he said I shouldn't do it because if I screw up then I lose my money. But it's hard to screw up but the problem is that almost nobody I know, knows how to build a pc so I'm on my own with these vids.

he forgot to mention on first boot you should probably go into BIOS, make sure the motherboard picked everything up OK and then change it so that it will boot the CD drive first.
uh... You can if you're very patriotic, and you don't know shit about the computer. Otherwise everything I get is Free. Beside the computer of course. *just for the record, I get 100% good stuff (legit)*<-- anything! lol
I hate Torrents. It's just that Bill Gates is my cuzzin, and I get whatever I want from him. Torrents are highly illegal, and you will be in alot of trouble one day because of them. With the new release of Windows 7 torrents will be blacklisted.

Well, I think multimedia is a sort of catch all term that companies are using to market their pc systems with that have higher specifications and can handle more data such as when working in media projects(ie: video/music editing etc.) However, if you would like to have your own dvr/pvr or just watch satellite or cable tv from your pc, all you need to do is buy a tv tuner and install it. You can get a great one for about 100 US dollars. I found one for $135 that is very impressive.
Quick question, does the Vista Home Premium OEM version come with the disc and the activation code is mailed to you, or am I completely wrong? Answer please.

It's a decent guide but I wouldn't want that guy to build me a pc (that I would do it myself is besides the point) because he is quite messy/sloppy. I noticed lots of little things like how hard he pressed the keyboard and mouse plugs in, closing the disk drive tray, putting in the psu, and more of these little things.
i agree that he is a little rough at the end, but throughout most of the vid he was careful and he did a great job of showing others how to build a computer
