Hmm just tried the trial .Its a good game but it lacks the people .I mean the whole 14 days i played i have seen 2 or 3 phrases on chat ,not concidering gold seller spam .I'm even wanderin why would i want to pay a monthly fee for a Single Player game? :S .And btw there is only one EU server(EU players interest)with low population on all factions but by low i didn't expected near 0 population .Anyway have fun paying a single player game ... monthly

@TZamBAL The game is going to be free to play in a few weeks. Check the news on the official homepage - just search for google ater potbs - or download the 14 days trial again to shorten the waiting :)

Population has increased since the Addon a few weeks ago and will keep increasing after the f2p launch. Look at Dungeon and Dragons Online. It had around 15.000 players and and after it is gone free to play the numbers are ten times higher. So give it a try ... you know the game is fun. :D

In my opinion if you want better graphics and gameplay and the real pirate world (including geografy) buy this thing. If you want to not be forced to pay (but even the one year membership in potco costs less than 12$*12) and live the potc legend and have even islands that don't really exist (wich is for me quite cool) you would rather prefer potco. but it is your choice

good game overall. the naval battles are ok but nothing exciting.sometimes they last for too long.the questing system is a bit frustrating because there are no markers on the map or something to point you at the correct direction.the economy and ship management are nice.you build warehouses,mines,etc for raw materials and you can actualy build your own ships,upgrades and other stuff.the RPG part is also good.there are many skills to choose depending on the path you follow and the combat style.

the game is like PoTCO EXCEPT ship battles you can't control cannons as well as its not hack and slash so that means you click on someone to attack. The graphics are better but it's nothing special. It feels like a F2P MMO.

this game is nothing like PotC. for examble ship combat is built up as a simulator where you have to sail according to the wind and true sailing skills really matter. The world is much bigger as it covers all of caribbean in true geography unlike PotC where its just scattered islands. Also the storyline is amazing and deep and there is no grinding. Of course choose the game you like most since there are free trials on them both but I highly recommend this game

character combat is something that's very hard to achieve in MMO type gameplay. But compared to a slick-running world of warcraft these characters indeed look like fighting wooden sticks
