I saw Levon last night In Vancouver. I think he may have had a bit of a cold but to be honest he could really barely sing. But ill be goddamned if he didnt give it every thing he had to get out what little he could. It was a little heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time. And the concert was awesome. At 70 years old it was obvious hes still having a great time up there. My son is a year old and when Ophelia comes on he gets so excited and jumps up and down. Makes me so proud.

I know a poor old farmer, my uncle. Except he grows pecans and peaches. He lost a grandson a few yrs back . It was pecan season and the grandchild fell off the tractor and was crushed. My Uncle was very heart broken when it happened.

I am only 31 but after watching the Last Waltz I am fascinated by Levon Helm. When he sings and drums at the same time during "up on Cripple Creek" I was an instant fan. Doing research and realizing he is still at it just makes me even more amazed. Levon your a legend.
