Currently, our atmosphere contains 387 ppm of CO2, up from 280 pre-industrial. That being said, it would take 10,000 ppm to start being a noticeable toxin in the air we breathe. As far as how CO2 effects climate, all I can say is that, while it transmits light via the sun, it absorbs radiation in the thermal infrared wavelength. This, in turn, causes more heat to be held sustained in the atmos.

Seriously,it has been demonstrated in a laboratory, and it indeed emits light in the infrared range. Alex Jones does make some good points about the inherit corruption of a corprotacracy. However, CO2 does damage the atmosphere, albeit to what reasonable extent, I know not.

Some CO2 is needed. The questions are, does the small apparent increase in CO2 explain the small increase in global temperature observed in the 1990s. And is the increase related to the CO2 or other changes made by human actions.

It would be safe to assume CO2 plays a role along with other gases, as they have doubled since their inception. Other things may have an effect as well, so I will agree that this legislation will not solve the problem, but benefit the corporatacracy. We must first determine whether this is really going to be catastrophic, and if so, develop a reasonable, multi-pronged plan to solve it. This is over-expectations for this nation, however.

even if carbon is the root cause of a problem that does not exist, this is not the way to solve it. if they care so much then why are they not giving us free solar panels for our homes, why are they not trading in our old gas run vehicles for electric ones for free. they have the money and resources to do it but i guess paying people to kill children in the third world and making bombs is more of a priority.

Global Warming can be attributed to the sun and polar shift, this is a continuing cycle. They don't tell you that ice displaces more water than water does. For once I agree with Alex. If they really thought that this was real they would force oil companies to release patents on carburetors that get 100's of miles to the gallon or hydrogen technology that would remove our dependency on fossil fuels, This whole thing is about money nothing else.
