Macs are The best for multimedia, like music, pic, video, ect. Microsoft computers are mainly good for gaming. (i have a mac and an xbox 360) so Dj q-bert is on the right track.

meh, you can do the exact same thing with both. Except with macs you have iLife... its good only because it has everything in one package, you could get everything in iLife easily on a pc, albeit from multiple programs. So it boils down to A) Whether you like pc's or macs based on usage (looks and operating system) and B) Whether you want to pirate 1 large file or a few smaller ones.

OK let's see: it doesn't have a proper taskbar with instances of each program visible, doesn't have proper home and end keys, made from cheap metal and made out to be some work of art, mouse left and right click often respond the wrong way around, keyboard doesn't have any feel at all, only supports Apple approved software (i.e. crappy Adobe rubbish), no colour in the interface and no way to change that, only approved hardware (no drivers), back-to-front interface, the list goes on...

well you my friend obviously dont know a whole lot about computers. macs dont have a taskbar or home and end keys because they dont need them. windows comps are made of cheap plastic. as for the keyboard, well, it depends on what mac you get and what model it was. seeing as how mac switched their processor from power pc to intel, you can run windows AND osx on your computer allowing you to do alot more via the programs you can run.

macs are virus free, and almost impossible to hack because of the unix based operating system vs. windows' really old, and simple DOS shell. i dont remember the last time ive used a mac that crashed. the stock graphics cards are a whole lot better than the ones that come in windows. multiple desktops, better wireless capabilites and networking capabiliites, infinitely better graphics designing abilities, the list goes on.....

Windows, starting actually from windows ME is not DOS based. Like you said, it has a command prompt but it's not DOS. It can run some DOS in an EMULATED environment. Before, Windows used to run on top of DOS in other words, DOS was the boot loader.

Macs aren't impossible to hack, they might be more secure because of a Linux base but the main reasons they don't virii are that less people write virii for them and it's near impossible to install an virus as it's near impossible to install anything on the lame OS.  An Alienware could wipe the floor with a Mac because you have performance you can actually use!

ok most if not all programs have autorecovery built in, for mac and windows. but, not gonna lie, alienware has beautifullly designed computers. im thinking in terms of shit like dell (which bought alienware sadly), and compaq.

HP and alienware made the best gaming computers. im ALSO thinking in terms of windows vista, not XP. XP pro is actually pretty good because its been around for a good while so most if not all of the kinks have been ironed out.

Alienware isn't all that its made out to be. Its horribly overpriced. Real gamers will either have a custom pc made for them at a local shop, or make it on their own.

A good company that is similar to Alienware but cheaper is Ibuypower, look it up, they have some nice gaming computers for under $1000, that can't really be said about alienware.

First off, how is that not a valid reason? Second, I can think of many things I prefer about PC's. The fact you can customize them, more programs, basically everything works on pc (Same can't be said for a Mac). Not to mention you pay double or even triple (If you built your pc) the price for a Mac just for the looks. And again, for a avid gamer having more than 5 options in what to play is a pretty big selling point.

Thats a load of bs. The mac does have a favorable niche in the music/art market, but its not because their computing powers make pc computing powers look bad.

Both macs and pcs abide by the same advances in technology. One isn't lightyears ahead of the other in any aspect. You can build a pc to perform the same functions any mac can do.

I am not saying macs are bad. I honestly think they are fun to use. But thats strictly because of their OS and not because of their hardware.

Macs, however, do utilize their hardware better, given that they basically know for a fact what their hardware is going to be. Ergo, Macs are *generally* more stable, faster, etc. than a PC with comparable specs, since Microsoft has no way of knowing what your PC will be built with. The main reason so many artists choose Macs is just because of their general stability and not having to deal with drivers, etc. I'm a DJ, and I use a Mac for those very reasons.

I understand that Macs simplify a lot of things for the user (such as choosing hardware). But lets not go around saying they are better because they "utilize their hardware better". Why? Cause at the same time it costs more for the same hardware. In other words, the money difference could be used to buy better hardware on a PC. In the end, it would even out to being about the same computing power for the same price.
