There has been no better DJ than Dan. Was the voice of many TV channels such as HBO etc. I used to love how he introduced Howard Cosell--"Let's broach the coach." The next best ,IMO, was Robert W Morgan on KHJ in LA in the 60s-70s.

I have years of WABC air checks and of all the 60's - 70's favorites I have is my DI goodies. He could ALMOST break the rules, or actually break them but you never knew it! Truely THE best pop DJ/Announcer on the air waves. Too bad the music changed, he'd still be around.

Sadly, the term "oldies" has become politically incorrect these days in general (even though PC was already in full force by then). Note that a song just 10 years old at the time is being played there. (But I don't want to hear Eminem on an oldies station, please!) WCBS is still a good station these days.

I wish I listened to him every single second he was on the air. I listened to the "Ingram Mess" on WABC, but I also listened to WICC AND WNBC. He really made me laugh and I wished I could be like him. I was always amazed how he could think up funny stuff to say. Dan Ingram brought a lot of joy into my life. Thank you Mr. Ingram.
