I find it ironic that the camera was right there to film the accident. I always felt like that was set up to happen, because they've been trying to get a new stadium built, but the city kept saying the stadium was fine and there is no need to build a new one and to just fix up the Vet. So yea, I belive the railing was set up to fall live on tv so the city had no choice but to allow construction of a new ball park.

no dude the reason it collapsed is because the camera was there and all of the cadets where going crazy trying to get on tv and were leaning on the rail..that was an embarrasment for philly

You have your opinion and I have mine. I grew up in Philly and went to the vet all the time. And never understood why they wanted to tare it down. It was fine every time I went there. Those railings were set inside concrete, so how the railing came out is still a mystery to me.

OMG!! I WAS THERE!! I saw everyone dissappear but I wasn't close enought to see that they fell off the stands. Later I was told what happened. Someone I knew actually hurt his neck and wore a halo for a few weeks but still recovered completely.
