I always wondered whether Bowies brother Terry haunts Cane Hill, apparently he hated it there and eventually committed suicide by throwing himself under a train. How Bowie could leave is own flesh and blood in such a place is beyond me !

@mashamorgan no, it was his family, and Terry really wouldn't be safe outside of the asylum, so it was the best decision.

@MrMAHBOI1 obviously he needed 24 hour care but the very reason Thatcher closed them down apparently apart from cost was the standard of care was dreadful not to mention the abuse and horrendous medical practices like insulin, over use of ECT and the dreaded Lobotomy. I just think if I was a multi millionaire I would have placed Terry in a private institution as Charlie Chaplin did in the early 1900s with his mother who was also in Cane Hill. Respect
