  • I have lived in Taiwan for 5 years. Love the place.

  • Its a realllly nice airport. Went to BKK and had a 2hr layover there this past trip, and just got home Saturday. Gate C3 is Hello Kitty gate for Eva Air and Gate C4 has a seat with an outlet right next to it if you want to sit and charge your laptop or phone without sitting on the floor. On the other side of C3 next to Hello Kitty gate, there's an internet spot with free wifi or free computers you can use to surf the internet, emails, and kill some time.

  • it's a very nice airport, transitted three times through TPE... put's Sydney airport to shame

  • Big airport, nice song

    i miss taipei

  • is it easy to get around? im going to taipei in 2 months, cuz last time when i went to hong kong i didnt know that i have to take the subway and almost got left behind from that flight

  • ugh! im goin there in 3 weeks. there's Skytrain at this particular airport, it transfers people to the other terminal. ALSO, there's free internet at terminal 2. you might wanna check it out, while your in transit. HAVE FUN AND HAVE A GREAT TRIP.

  • Hi, thanks for the comment. My experiences in Taiwan are not typical as I've only traveled there on business. When I arrived, a hotel car picked me up at the airport and drove me to my hotel. During my stay, my company's local representative took me to my various meetings as well as lunch and dinner. Most everyone I met in the high tech industry spoke English. If you're going on your own, I would suggest a tour or go with a friend who knows the island and the language. It is beautiful. Good luck

  • thats cool! thank you for replying and for the info! :D

  • how was your stay in taiwan overall? was it hard to understand/communicate with the people living there? Is it rainy and humid there? I'm curious because i want to go there someday and i just want to know how its like from someone with experience.

  • Hi Linkfan07,

I lived in Taipei for over ten years and had a wonderful time. The people are so friendly, welcoming and really go out of their way to help you.

The traffic can be a bit chaotic though and the weather is hot and humid in summer. Never mind though, the food is just wonderful and so inexpensive.

Definitely go and have a great time!
