  • cool not what I was looking for but it's alright(is looking for japanese to english saw the movie it is from in both english and japanese seen many times please help me!!!)

  • @animeisawsome5 since i am not 100% sure but i am assuming your asking if there's an "English" version of this song and there is not, the "English" version is sung in Latin (basically the version this video) and if that was even near what you where asking/looking then just ignore this post altogether ^^

  • its wierd how one word or letter in one language can mean a few words or a whole sentance in anther language

  • Why is there three versions of this song? I don't understand!!! Some please explain to me

  • @cherrieblossomgurl theres the kingdom hearts version, original final fantasy 7 version, and the final fantasy 7 movie version. its the boss theme in kingdom hearts and final fantasy 7

  • @thegreatMSG

Sorry this only make more sense to Advent children version.. :/

  • @MrSnackization Obviously he/she has been disproven.

    @mattwo7 @kissemurra12 & @ZomboneNecros O_O Damn.

  • gaararox. it's Hebraic, meaning "tree of life". It is also in Tarot, and other practices. The legend of the Tree of Life is about as old as human civilization itself. It is even known as "Darnasses" in World of Warcraft. But only the "stump" of the legend remains. Sephiroth, Aleph-Null, etc. Human legend(s). Very interesting stuff to look into for "useless information" on the "Legend" of our existence.

    10/6 Heh.

  • >_<

  • the ps1 version is freaky

  • Thank you for the Video m8

  • I think it should be:

Veni Veni Venias - Ne me mori facillas

Come! Come! Come on! - I will not die easily.

I think there is a mistake in the translation. The Japanese vocalization of Latin is bound to make facillas sound like facias ... "Do not let me die" doesn't make sense. Who is Sephiroth pleading to? And if it's the player pleading to Sephiroth ... why does he taunt him with "come on!"

  • @lupocephalic I've always seen the song as Jenova chanting to Sephirtoh this is obviously the case for the AC version and assuming it is here Do no let me die makes a little more since, though you bring upa very good point and it's more likely you're correct.

  • @Darkflare221

Yes I was under the impression that the song was Jenova chanting to Sephiroth as well ... But then I thought "Why/How am I meant to be hearing the song in Sephiroth's head?"

I think the chant is better interpretted (sp?) as Sephiroth trying to intimidate his enemy.

Then again, interpretation is just that isn't it? I like it my way better, lol.

  • @lupocephalic exactly right that is interpretation, and this is a sign of true art that it's still being debated about 13 years later, though as I stated before I like your idea more as well.

  • @Darkflare221

13 years ... suddenly I feel old, lol.

  • lol, well I'm only 18 so it's hard to feel old.

  • @Darkflare221

You're well spoken for an 18 year old, sir/miss; a rarity to be sure.

What do you intend to study, Latin, Literature, Philosophy? Or perhaps you intend to pursue a degree that might actually get you a job.

    It's a pity that philosophy doesn't pay ... if it did ... Hmmm ...

The idea of mass marketed philosophy just sprang into my mind. Forget I said anything about philosophy paying. Bad idea.

  • @lupocephalic Well thank you, I blame my english teacher for caring so much lol, it's sir. all three sound great, I really thought about phillosophy though yes a degree that would pay well would be nice, there's so many options, just going with general studies for now.

  • @Darkflare221

This vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose!

Hmm ... I wonder what degrees certain actors have .... acting pays well.

I must be off, my friend. Morpheus summons me, and I cannot ignore him any longer.

  • i love latin . . . .

  • Sephiroth in Latin means the songs name; One-Winged Angel.

  • @gaararox1108 If you don't mind me asking what is your source? I've never ehard this and can't seem to find anything suggesting so.

  • @Darkflare221

I just typed in What does Sephiroth's name mean, and Google said One winged Angel.

  • @gaararox1108 Doesn't necesarilly mean it's latin, furhtemore it could have said that as if says One winged angel who do we think of? also, Sephiroth doesn't even sound latin and I can't find anything suggesting it is. however there is the hebrew Sephirot translated into english is Sephiroth which is something seen as revelations the creator's will which Sephiroth seems himself as. this seems more liekly to me.

  • @gaararox1108 its a double referance system(sephiroth=his name=one winged angel=the songs name=what he is)

  • @sonny0123456

    that sounds more then double

  • @gaararox1108

    Lol no?

  • @gaararox1108 Really i hade no idea that was true.

  • @gaararox1108 I suggest you look at wikipedia (which is a far more credible source than your teacher may think)

  • @gaararox1108 English to Latin translation — Alpha

    Sephiroth

    You fail.

  • @gaararox1108 Sephiroth may refer to:

Sephirot or Sephiroth, the ten attributes that God created through which he can manifest

Sephiroth (Final Fantasy), a character from Final Fantasy VII

Sephiroth, a fictional device in Tales of the Abyss

  • @gaararox1108 Sephirot or Sephiroth (Hebrew: סְפִירוֹת‎, pronunciation), meaning "enumerations", are the 10 attributes/emanations in Kabbalah, through which God (who is referred to as Ein Sof - The Infinite) reveals himself and continuously creates both the physical realm and the chain of higher metaphysical realms (Seder hishtalshelus). The term is alternatively transliterated into English as Sephiroth/Sefiroth, singular Sephirah etc.

  • @gaararox1108 numbered is the correct one, its based on the jewish sephiroth which is also in context of the game as sephiroth wants to ascend into godhood.

  • @gaararox1108 Sephiroth is Hebrew

  • @gaararox1108 And I believe is derived from a much older word, Seraph, which describes an angel with multiple wings which is Sephiroth's final form.

  • @gaararox1108 wtf! wrong :/

  • this remind me of me oddly

  • @kordsfist how is this odd? welcome to being human :P

  • @Darkflare221 no im just always angry oddly for no reason

  • @kordsfist there's nothing wrong with anger it's an imnportant emotion. hatred on the other hand has no constructive purpose. we need angry people in this world.

  • @Darkflare221 true either way its still a song that is awsome

  • @kordsfist Fuck yeah.

  • real good video i always wonder what they singing about in this song

  • some one should dub it

  • Epic win!! I'm a ff freak, so I've memorized lyrics (English, Latin, then there's a song that is just some weird language, either that or giberish but nobuo uematsu wouldn't do that) to a lot of songs. This helps! Thx!:)

  • *clap clap clap* I too am I geek to ff7, so much

i made my anime clubs anthem one winged angel

  • no english is easier to read dumb ass

  • i dont know why people get so freaked out by different languages, they just need to get over and enhance their inner culture.....

  • inner culture is the same as the"a man chooses, a slave obeays" shit.

  • I freak people out by writing the lyrics down in latin, translating it to english, and then to norwegian... Thanks for the help!

  • @kazetehskylord norway FTW
