@Ramin20101 Its random like all the others, when ur in a fight and it activates the DMW u have to get lucky. It tells u the percent chance for getting each summon in the menu DMW section. There are ways to increase it.

@MegaLucario7 It was the other way around for me. I played FFVII and VIII before G/S/C were even released, so Ho-oh reminded me of the Phoenix. In fact, that was even my first nickname for it, way back when. I believe that Ho-oh is based off the Chinese Phoenix, Fènghuáng.

1st visit to nebielheim. DO NOT GO INTO THE INN. talk to a little boy telling you about the 7 wonders of the place ---> first wonder is "red water". Check the water tower near the boy at the center of the town, climb up. You'll get it.

@al6260 Nibelheim,with the Water Castel.When you arrive in Nibelheim,you can see in front of you a Wood-made Water Castel.Go just close of it and climb up.You'll se the Materia in the water ;)

You find him in Nibelheim. It's part of a side quest of eight mysteries. Talk to this boy standing outside his home and you start it. I bleieve it is the first Side Quest. Zack climbs up to the water tower because he says the water turns red like blood. Inside he finds a Red Materia. That would be Phoenix. One of the easiest summons to get in the game.
