My Nan was recently hospitalised with a serious stroke. She could hardly move and didn't speak or smile for weeks. My mum took a CD of Lanza for her to listen too as she was lifelong fan. When she put the head phones on she smiled and her eyes filled up, and she said 'its wonderful' she even nodded her head to the music. The nurses said they couldn't believe it - they had not seen her like that since she was there. Music is a very powerful thing, it can bring happiness even at times like that.

My grandmother, who had twice heard Caruso at the Met, and along with my mom, had played me Caruso and Lanza singing on LP's, got this deep sad look and just sighed. I spent years just KNOWING that Mario Lanza was going to re-appear and sing for us again.

i freakin love his more forward pop voice. he usually doesnt use this voice throughout and entire song. when he hits the more prominent chest voice moments he goes back toward the operatic style, but not always in this song. AMAZING.

What a song for a married couple's 50th Anniversary. If Mario does not get to you singing a song that I think was meant for him , I know not what will. IT'S STUNNING , SIMPLY STUNNING.  We are blessed to have had a Mario Lanza in our life to listen too. We surely have been graced by a higher power. Mario himself, said as much and treasured the gift he was given he said came from God.
