I want to change the resolution so I can make a window smaller because just after installing a game it was in windowed mode and the window was larger than my screen and i couldnt make it smaller. PLZ HELP

For my screen resolution thing, it only has 800x600 and 1024x768.

and I want to put it to 1280 x 1024

i know how to do all of this but my comp goes from 1400by1050 to 1600 by 1200

but my tv/screen recomends 1680 by 1050 but theres nothing in between

id say that your video card does not support that res. so youd have to get a new video card if you wanted to display 1680x1050 on your tv

is the video card a hardware that you put into the computer or something you can download

The video card is a piece of hardware innside your computer which outputs the video to your monitor or tv. If you have a Pc, it is very simple to put a new one in, but im not sure if you can even do it on a laptop.

oh ok then thats not the case coz before it was formatted it was able to do it now it cant and i replaced the vista home pre with ultimate is it just a matter of updating?
