When I was younger I was more strict about what was punk and what wasn't. Hard to say. What's a sellout? I don't buy it anymore. Anything can be punk if it has the spirit. You can have a DIY spirit on a major label and playing poppier music. I'm not gonna listen to it, but I think you can. And I think it can be a gateway drug to the "real thing" also.

im a punkrocker but i get shit because apperently i dont look punk enough according to the "real" punkrock kids in my town.. and i play in a punkrock band but we dont play hardcore punk, we play a more like an experimental punk and because of that im not "punk enough" for them.. i dont really care tho it just pisses me off a bit.. im looking for another band to play more hardcore punk in to but its hard to find.. anyway i bet that if i show them this video they wont say that shit anymore

When I was 13 years old I was obsessed with nothing more than streetpunk music on my guitar and drums in my band, listening to streetpunk and oi... going to shows... nothing more... i dropped out of highschool and bummed the streets
now I'm 22, getting ready to graduate with a math degree and a kickass full scholarship. I am a Muslim and I live a totaly straight life... but i never lost the streetpunk spirit... i realize its there in everything i do...

And when I was starting college and studying organic chemistry at the salvation army homeless shelter, I had no choices. When I was younger I was more strict about what was punk and what wasn't. Hard to say. What's a sellout? I don't buy it anymore. Anything can be punk if it has the spirit. You can have a DIY spirit on a major label and playing poppier music. I'm not gonna listen to it, but I think you can. And I think it can be a gateway drug to the "real thing" also.
