  • this printer is a piece of shit! do not buy it

  • I have been buying new ink every 250 copies. All of the ink runs out ever 250 copies. I spent about a thousand dollars on ink, and I don't hardly use the the piece of shit.

  • Like many have said, "this is the worst printer by far I have ever owned".

Paper jams, or problems with paper feeding ( I use premium copy paper at $6 / ream ), And with high capacity inks, I'm lucky to get 250 pages of print, even with minimal content being printed.

The inks cost over $130 and don't forget you will be replacing the 2 printheads $50 ea) that only last about 1,000 pages.. I've had to replace all of them in 3 different printers. By FAR, the most expensive Printer EVER.

  • 8500 A909g - The biggest hog of expensive ink ever! And now to boot, it's just splurging out big blobs of thick black ink that smear all over the page. Colour ink seems to magically disappear. We bought this for it's duplex printing and wireless features,,, never again.

We've wasted more ink and paper with this piece of crap than with all my previous printers combined since 1989.

  • HP office jet pro 8500 is a piece of crap. If you want to only print in black ink, be prepared to buy ALL of the colored cartridges with every black ink refill and maybe even more than once for every black refill. It doesn't matter if you set your settings to "use black ink only" because it will drain your color cartridges just like they had a hole in them. This must be the most expensive-to-run printer on the market. It is designed to rip you off!!! I'll never buy any HP product again.

  • HP IS SHIT. Products are unreliable and their customer service is a disgrace too. My latest 'All In One' has only had little use but because its warranty period has expired I'd have to pay a packet to get it repaired. Every HP printer I've had has been problematic, unike the Epson that I once borrowed from a family member. HP's colour profiles are all wrong too, and when I complained they couldn't care less. I had to borrow some pricey software to make my own colour profile. No more HP for me.

  • Ink printers are mega expensive. This one is not a exception.

  • is this good for sticker paper?

  • @MRIMBA007 It should be able to do that no problem.

  • Horrible printer. We had ours for about a month, now it will randomly stop feeding paper! Makes a loud 'grinding' noise, then just spins as it looks for paper-that's already there. Huge pain in the butt for a company printer! Apparently it's a general design flaw; I've seen multiple boards complaining of the same issue. Thanks HP.

  • GetConnected, will it able to scan yearbooks? I want to scan pages of my 2 yearbooks to edit some of it's pages on the computer.

If it can't, what's the nest scanner to get for a cheap price? All I want it to do is make it so that it could turn black and white photos to color, edit photos, and scan yearbooks.

  • Hi was wondering if you have done a review on hp all in one 4500, 6500a, 7500a, 8500a and a plus.

  • HP's ink is a ripoff

  • I have had this printer just over a year and a half. It has stopped working!

  • HP Wants is just a quick Buck to make off People with just the good looks and features and Sale a Horrible Printer that runs shitty.

  • WIth my Experience, HP is Horrible making Printers. I recommend anything better, like Lex Mark, Compaq, Dell, and more. Do not buy from HP they Suck on Printers.

  • @sonypsp05 Compaq and HP are the same company. Same products, different names, different looks. Both suck.

  • UNA IMPRESORA MUY BUENA, SI ALGUIEN NECESITA CARTUCHOS: entra en

    tiendacartucho-es

  • 4500 all in one.8500 pro is still a good printer to buy. Your may also want to consider the 6500 wireless series

  • this printer SUX hard

  • @RamzGT What did you not like about this printer?

  • @getconnectedtvshow

it is unreliable - you have to restart it all the time to get the wireless to work correctly... restart takes 10 minutes, and many times it will throw internal errors so you have to restart again and again

so basically its not anything you can count on to get work done. maybe for home use, if you're not under the clock that is

  • @RamzGT That definitely sounds unreliable. I think the problem is with wireless printing. Once you try to put everything into the cloud instead of using wires, you bring in a lot of potential problems and more troubleshooting. So I agree with you, if your under the clock, hook your printer directly to your computer.

  • @getconnectedtvshow

Even via USB I have to restart the thing because when it falls asleep, you can't wake it back up without a restart. Terrible design flaw.

  • @RamzGT That is unfortunate, most would have expected that something like that would have been fixed before release. Nevertheless, design mistakes/flaws do slip the cracks. From what others said here, I believe this model was discontinued, so HP probably won't make that mistake again.

  • @RamzGT

so tell me does hp planing to release the fixed version or should i just buy the 6500

  • @RamzGT you may want to reset the drivers, power the printer on unplug it and replug holding the # and 9 key together. If it still does not work you could clear the driver the same way with ok and cancel keys. If your still having problems you could connect the printers network cable to your gateway or router. That way the printer may work better.

    farook

  • @RamzGT Why? What other printern would you suggest?

  • @wildreams the successor has being launhced. Its an amazing upgrade with an independent email id for direct printing.

  • this was good why HP disconnected this i liked it

  • Was planning to buy this one. I heard its been discontinued from hp

  • @kfarookahmed That could very well be the case. Products don't stay on the market very long anymore because new ones are always being developed

  • Was planning to buy this one. I heard its been discontinued from hp

  • @kfarookahmed

so what did u buy instead?

just asking cause i need some good wifi printer

  • Please help!! I have an apple computer i also have an hp printer, i am trying to print, my computer is requesting an ip number, what is that and if its located on the hp printer, where would i find it?

  • @toshacarey12 Download this apple software called Bonjour. It should help you connect your printer to your apple computer. Let us know if it work out for you.

  • I own this printer but can't get it to work. Beginning with the first day of installation, printer had numerous serious issues. After 6 months of talk with customer service, technical support and case manager, I finally asked the case manager if they could refund or exchange it with a different model, his reply, 'I can not do it, use it as is'.

My printer defective and HP refused to solve the issue. Shame on HP.

  • @timokinc That's very unfortunate; sounds like it was a defective product. You might want to try searching some forums and see if anyone else has had similar issues. The online tech community is always willing to help people when the manufactures don't.

  • @getconnectedtvshow

    I appreciate your concern. Thanks.

After spending more than 15 hours, I quit.

Replacing this printer with something else would cost HP less than spending it tech support and case manager.

    This my last HP ever.

  • cool printer, but it runs out of ink fast as hell

  • Is this an unbiased review or an advertisement?

  • We have two of these, and I can highly recommend them. Thumbs up!

  • great product
