I've been looking for a good pair of thin range gloves for a while. I tried several different gloves for shooting and was most impressed with a pair of Asher Cooltech Deathgrip gloves. They are made for golf, but were perfect for general range use, especially with handguns. They are skin tight, provide excellent feel, not too tacky, and no excess material around your fingers to catch in the trigger. Plus they look freakin' cool ! Check them out.
Thanks for the review on these, very well done. Good points made on the velcro and finger lengths. How did you size them? Were you able to try pairs on in a shop or did you order via mail? Thanks for the video man!
@SurviveToLife Hello again man - these were bought for me as a gift, so they estimated very well as to my hand size. Interestingly, I recently found out that I shoot far better using my middle finger! My usual trigger finger was all bandaged up, so the middle finger stood up to the mark, and beat the ass out of my usual score. This could of course (rather, very likely it is!) be purely coincidental, but if not, I'll need to be getting a new pair, made for messed up shooters.
@TheEnglishRedneck45 Interesting! You may end up with some custom gloves. Perhaps you'll endeavor into shooting glove modifications? Oddly enough, my middle finger is quite a bit more comfortable on the trigger. Go figure... For shooting, I do like the way the original mechanix wear glove fits but in winter, they conduct the cold. I picked up a pair of their cold weather gloves last year, we'll see how they fair in this winter shooting.
@SurviveToLife Ah, very interesting indeed. I must say I don't usually feel comfortable holding a firearm whilst wearing gloves. True, that is likely due to my lack of experience using gloves, but I personally feel I have to feel the trigger against my skin. I am no sniper, but I don't like the thought that my sense of touch is being impaired.
Have you tried out silk liners with the Mechanix? Seal Skinz make liners for these ones here for extreme cold, so perhaps that may help with yours?
@TheEnglishRedneck45 I tend to go glove free as well, however, here in Minnesota it gets pretty cold and gloves can come in handy, although I do not like them bulky or too warm. For some reson I am a human furnace and keep very warm all year long,
Excellent guidance on the liners! I have not tried them but you have something here! Man, you sure make my shopping list easy!
