@thumbbass65 I'm not Ray but I can tell you that it is a difficult (but enjoyable) transition. They're very different instruments. The notes are the same but just about everything else is different. It takes a lot of time and effort but it's worth it!
wow i just discovered this right now, i never knew of this bass player, ive been getting into the latin bass style lately, and from the comment below me i find out hes from puerto rico, im half puerto rican, i dont know how ive never heard of this guy. this is so awesome hah. like you have no idea.
Ray is not only one of the most talented bass players in Puerto Rico. I had the great blessing of being on a jazz bass/guitar duo with him as well as played on several groups together. He's the kind of musician everyone wants to play with. He is also one of the most talented young luthiers on the planet. I am always touched and filled with great happiness to see him continuing to gain popularity as both a player and instrument builder.
Well, Finally I get to see that master MR. Ray Ramirez tear up a baby bass without breaking a sweat!! Not only does he makes them also knows how to break them wide open!! Thank you for the upload. God Bless
Ray How difficult is it to transition to an upright bass? I play electric bass with flatwound strings
