@Coltsuke Well it depends on your kind of music. Pop, rock, electronic, and orchestral are all compressed and produced differently. the last of which is actually easiest I think.

@Coltsuke You generally do not want to compress orchestral music. Or very little if you do. You see, you want to leave it with enough room for the dynamics that orchestral is famous for. Also I don't know if you know where to pan all your instruments but you might want to get an orchestra layout chart to see where to put them all. Also if you have too much reverb that could be muddling sound but sometimes it's ok, as with most of Hans Zimmer's work. But, he IS Hans Zimmer...

If you're able to record the instruments independently (or, as I suspect you did, you're able to synthesize them in software such as FL Studio), you could try applying a filter on each instrument to achieve better clarity. Trim out the excess bass in the treble instruments (vocal, possibly guitar, and even cymbals/hi-hat, maybe snare, depending on the sample) and trim out the treble in the bass instruments (bass guitar, bass drum).

That should clear up the muckiness in the bass register.

@shadowdroid776 Hmm, I didn't notice I got a dislike till you pointed it out. Oh well, there are some flaws with it. As many have stated before me, it is a rather short piece and there is far too much compression AND there is a lot of muddling in the bass register. So I am rather very understanding of this individual's dislike. But if someone disses my vision, they can go buck themselves.

I'd probably download more of these if they were longer,but at only a minute for most songs I'd feel like it's a waste of space because once I start getting into it, the song ends and it feels unfinished and I get annoyed...

@Ewyndall Well the tenors and bassos in the choir are singing D's and the bass progression is (before the modulation) is DFGA so I think it works. The Altos are singing F's and only go up to G once or twice. I do agree that the choir gets muddled with the low brass I have in there. I went kinda crazy w/ the horns ^^;

@JimRaynorRaider Yeah the composition is cool (if I don't say so myself c;) but you can't hear the choir very distictntly like in professional songs of this nature that incorporate choirs. Like "Preliator" for example, you can distinguish the chorus from the rest of the orchestra and rock band. Here is kinda hard to do so.
