  • whats the name of the hip-hop beat at 0:18? Or where can i get the samples? Please?

  • whenever i try to hook up by keyboard to reason, it keeps saying that Midi could be in use with other applications... or along those lines. Ive literally spent hours on end trying to sort it out. I mean it was working fine for a couple of months but now it isn't. ive looked on all message boards and no suggestions. PLEASE HELP ME!

  • @TheSinghFIRE There's so many things to check and different elements to your individual set up that I'm not sure how we could possibly achieve it through youtube comments alone. But why not contact our support guys for something like this? They're experts at this stuff and there to help you. You can reach them from our web site. Good luck.

  • How do you keep one pad sample (with its presets) from a kit, and then initialize the other pads without initializing the whole device? Plz. Thnx.

  • Someone help the noob plz :S...i have written down the guitar and now I'm creating an instrument (Kong Drum) to add a beat but no sound can be heard...

  • Can I use this to connect to Logic?

  • I have one very simple question if someone could please tell me..Can you split a single recording in two? If so how?

  • dear people who know reason, how do i record the notes from my midi controller into the sequencer? i can play the notes and hear sound on all the instruments but when i go into sequencer and record what im playing, no midi notes are recorded?? thank you for you kind answer :D

  • @djejyooo, um, it should record your midi note when you press record

if it doesn't, you may not have the track selected

I'm sure you've already figured this out by now

  • CAn you edit your own drum wav samples and how?

  • @GanEdenAustralia Yes you can, Reason 5 (and now Reason 6 as of September) has a built in sample editor that lets you edit your WAVs. On the NN-Nano module in Kong you just right click the sample you want to edit and choose "Edit Sample" from the context menu that pops up.

  • @PropellerheadSW Why Reason 6 so soon??

  • @GanEdenAustralia Because we have new cool stuff like 64 bit architecture and 64 bit Rewire support, audio transpose in the sequencer, new devices, a singular integrated platform with every device inside Reason. That's cool stuff and worthy of a release. Is new cool stuff sooner than you expected a bad thing? :)

  • @PropellerheadSW But My comp is 32 bit so pretty useless really. Why not rename it Reason 5 64bit? Is it a bad thing? Yes when people have to fork out AGAIN!! Greed rules though eh??

  • @GanEdenAustralia Sure your computer is 32 bit others aren't. 64 bit support was one of the most requested features from users. And nobody has to fork out. What's the difference between us waiting to release Reason 6 until you think it's been long enough and you waiting to buy the upgrade until you think it's been long enough? There's no requirement to upgrade... do it when you feel the new features are worth it for you. And until then, the users who want the new features can have them.

  • If you Guys wanna see some stuff i made in Reason5 check out my channel

  • but i have a question i have the akai mpk mini pro. It has 8 pads 2 banks of sound which equal 16 pads. Can i use the 16 pads on the kong with my akai mpk pads? im new to reason i really wanna get it. I just have that question before i get it.

  • @AlienBeatzz yes you can do that.

  • @PropellerheadSW Okay thank you. :)

  • cant figure out how to rout for example a kickdrum i have through lets say an mclass eq so i can play with the kick sound can anyone help me?

  • @guillomendez You can change the output of the kick drum pad to it's own output... say 3/4 for example. Then on the back of Kong there are separate outputs for 3/4 that you can wire up to an Mclass EQ.

  • Someone talk to me. I would like to know if you can trigger "Kong's" drum pads from a touch pad of a lap top or netbook. Please let me know, thanx.

  • Hi can anyone tell me if it's possible to apply eq to an individual pad instead of applying it to the whole patch. Thanks

  • @Song66 Yes it is... simply route the pad to its own separate output and then run that output through an EQ or into a Mix channel to use the SSL EQ and Dynamics on that pad.

  • @PropellerheadSW thank you!

  • is there more samples or arefill for kong drum ?

  • lol i gotta say all fl studio has the shitty drumaxx and drumpad.

  • About a year ago it was my goal to get this, now i have it, and it kicks so much arse.

  • that synth sounds like the same one used in cudi's i do my thing

  • It's a very cool thing to see the evolution of music technology. Hat's off to the people at Propellorheads and others who saw its potential. I enjoy imagining the reaction of musicians I'd known back in the 70s if I had this gear; they would have bowed to me.

    Fun stuff!

  • Looks like they made a replacement for REDRUM

  • I just loooooooove this program!Since reason 2

  • Reason and Pro Tools together produce the best results. Especially with Boom for PT and the Xpand2 synthesizer. Take a look at my Pro Tools Reason setup and video showing how to use the two together.

  • 16 pads? 1 sound per pad?

    The possibities...

    IT'S OVER 9000!!!!!!!

  • @Artanis067 16 times the multiple of all known samples?: INFINITE! AAAAAAGH! My brain ruptured, ow?

  • @Artanis067 It's even more then that if you count in all the layers

  • do i need record 1.5 to make and save my beats

  • bought it too, great programmes deserve and need the funding

  • so beautiful...

  • is there any way i can find the beat at the begininng of this?

    its awesome

  • @scheizzerkopf It's one of the reason 5 demo songs in the demo songs folder. Not only can you get the beat but you can open it up and see how it's created and wired. :)

  • @PropellerheadSW whats it called i cant find it

  • @MrAndrewshepard Sorry! I was wrong. I just checked and it's not in the demo songs folder. I thought it was. In that case, I'm not sure what the song was. We got a bunch of songs from producers during beta testing and used a few for these vids. I want to say this track was by the Salazar Brothers but I could be wrong because I'm just going off memory.

  • @PropellerheadSW its all good i found another song thats a lot better called narrow escape, how did they get vocals on it though?

  • @scheizzerkopf It's the demo song you get with reason 5!

  • Is there an one click option (or some other easy way) to load a rex loop with up to 16 slices into the kong, so that every pad triggers one slice? Or do I have to load every sample one after the other?

  • Comment removed

  • i seen a girl using a kong once it was wonderful

  • Completed my survey an the damn doad link didn't even work. Aint that a bitch!

  • DOES THIS WORK WITH THE AXIOM PRO 49 WITH HYPER CONTROL!!!!!!!!!! ?????? NO!!!! FIX THAT SHIT ASAP!

  • tasty!

  • first things first I BOUGHT reason, haven't received it yet, but i wanted to know how the drums worked, do you have to have a pad for it to work? Or is there some sort of pattern editor?

  • @AndrewConfides You definitely don't have to have a pad controller to work. If you prefer pattern sequencing you can hook up both Reason Drum machines together. Redrum has a step sequencer on the front of it so you can connect cables from it to Kong and use the step sequencer on Redrum to trigger the sounds in Kong. Alternatively you can just use the sequencer to program Kong without a pad controller. If you have a regular piano controller too that would let you play Kong. Many options. ;)

  • @PropellerheadSW Thanks for the feedback to Andrew as I have been looking at different Tutorials on Youtube trying to figure out how to access the King Kong pad. Although I know it may be silly to add and the more advanced users may already know it, but Propellerheads should consider just throwing a small blurb at the end of the King Kong video that 'no external pad needed to program King Kong'. As an aside... I have been with Reasons for years, but I always struggle to make drum beats.

  • where i can get only kong ? i love reason 4

  • Yes i have my update from propellerhead. The kong is no joke. There's no need to go hardware these days. Save electric bill and still create nice sounds like if they were analog. Peace

  • My sound WON'T work in reason5. Can anyone PLEASE help me. it hasnt worked ever. Not once have i heard one sound from that program. help ASAP please!

  • @PunchingBabyz you need sound drivers. go to Asio4all . com and download the driver. i use it for fl studio as well. you'll not only get sound but you'll get it at a much better quality. hope that helps. :)

  • @PunchingBabyz u need to go master and change ur sound card

  • Always worked with Reason 4, looks like Reason 5 is a little different.

  • @guitdude09 Just curious as to why you need to export the metronome? You can easily create a metronome using a cymbol, hi-hat, ....anything.

  • this thing work wit M Audio Trigger Finger?

  • @dknight416 absolutely!

  • @PropellerheadSW and a Akai MPD32?

  • @VINICIOZEPHIR Yup. MPD32 + Kong = :)

  • @PropellerheadSW

    i use an M Ausio oxygen 61

  • @dknight416 OF COURSE MAN!

  • KOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!

  • Can you trigger the pads via the Numpad? That would be sick!

  • @Milsiz The Numpad is reserved for shortcut keys in Reason/Record, like "jump to left locator." I suppose you could use a utility like Quickeys to remap them, though. It's a good idea! Kong pads on your keyboard. :)

  • @Milsiz you can open up the on screen keyboard (as in the instrument) by hitting f4 and use your letter keys to controll it

  • @Waniay Cant try it cause i dont have Reason 5 yet :(

  • @Milsiz yo i been wanting that forever haha

  • redrum is so useless now. :P

  • Kong is a dog toy company where u get to hide food inside the toy... sounds better than this.... why would any1 want the nightmarish interface of an analog device when they could make any interface they want on a computer. doesn't make sense...

  • @gwb911 Is it not how reason usually is? Digital devices with analog interfaces. It is shaped so that the instrument patches resemble analog devices.

  • i have my mpc synced to reason but my mpc pads don't trigger the corresponding kong pads, anyone know how i can change this?

  • @IIHumanBeatboxII You have to Re-assign the pads in your MPC. It is automatically set to GM or General Midi. When I owned a MPC 2500 I had to do the same thing. I don't remember exactly how to get to that particular page. Besides, their are so many different OSs out there, yours may have been different from mine any way. Good Luck.

  • @KRobertB90 funny enough ive already had a reply! dude

  • Anyone know how to separate Kong's pads and set it to its own each Mix Channel in Record? Thanks!!!

  • I have Reason 4. Will my "favorite" instrument lists transfer into Reason 5, or will I have to make them all over again. Also, I have a lot of refills for Reason 4 and I really hop those will work as well. If anyone has an answer please let me know.

  • @dumpinfoolz420 I'm actually looking into it. I THINK you're okay but I don't want to tell you the wrong thing and wipe out your organizational work. I'll get back to you soon. Thanks.

  • @PropellerheadSW Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

  • @dumpinfoolz420 :D No problems at all with transfers of any sounds, instrumentals, refills, patches, etc, etc made on Reason 4 my friend.

All files open with out any fuss.

Reason 5 is a beast, I'm just starting to use KONG for my dubstep beats.

  • CAN I USE MY REASON 4 REFILLS ON REASON 5???? THANKS :)

  • Looks nice, I was expecting more features that could compete with the actual virtual synths market, yet its totally awesome the way they presented this, shame they added that last "reggaeton" beat, that totally destroyed the feeling I had about the new feature... I always tough that Propellerhead had they focus on high class quality productions.

  • @AnonymousMachine What do you mean? Are you inferring that quality and genre are synonymous to each other? Are you saying that Reggaeton is of less "quality" than Rock? Metal? Etc? Are you saying that Reggaeton is "low class"? Reggaeton was not the only music featured, and I believe Propellerhead is trying to attract users of all genres of "electronic" music..or music made electronically vs. live. It's up to the individual what they do with reason, for it's just a tool of expression. ;)

  • Hi propellerheadSW

I want to record/automate the tape echo fx inside my kong, like trigger on/off, time, feedback etc.. but it doesn't automate the on/off function event though you can trigger it with MIDI controle. We also can't record/automate the WET/DRY so there is no way I can play around with the effect and then turn it off when I want to?

I sooooo need this!! :( Loving reason 5

  • Hello

I would like to know about which web site could - I find a smart card(map) media rs7000 for yamaha

I would like to have a reponse as quickly as possible please

  • i want the beat in begin....

  • the definition of n.i.c.e. music.

All the tracks were made in Reason.

  • I love you Propellerhead <3<3

  • hola a toda yo kiero saber kien me puede dar ese programa reason 5 por q lo buko y no lo en cuentro gracia

  • really like this a lot better than redrum. i like how its more simple to attach an effect to a certain drum sound now. the new drum sounds are great as well.

  • does anybody know where i can find the full version of reason 5 ??? pass me a link please!!!

  • @thasameface85 No prob! I can help you! Just go to propellerheads[dot]se/shop. That's the link to get the full version of Reason 5. It even comes with a box, a DVD, a manual, customer support, and other registration benefits. Because that's what you meant, right? You weren't actually posting on our channel to find a crack were you? ;)

  • @PropellerheadSW lol. thats right! tell him go buy it!

  • @PropellerheadSW

    Priceless :)

  • @PropellerheadSW Busted!! lol

  • @PropellerheadSW lmfao @ ur comment prop shop - best reply iv read on you tube ;)

  • @thasameface85 Just goto Pirate Bay dot Org and get and old version, You weren't actually going to buy the software were you? ;)

  • @thasameface85 Propellerhead com lame

  • not a bad upgrade from the trusty redrum by the looks of tingz!

  • can you trigger them from external pads

  • @ybot1983 Sure. You mean Pad controllers? Many people are using their Korg Pad Kontrol, AKAI MPD, MPC, and other external pads. Works great!

  • 0:26 - 0:27. Powder rocking it like a pimp.

  • Just bought my Reason 5 upgrade and all I can say is wow.

  • does this track take place in reason 5 ? just cos i didnt found it anywhere. ( i mean the beat 0:18 to 0:40 )

  • uooo eyaculacion precozz!!

  • my knickers are wet after watching this

  • I can't believe this.....I got to get Reason 5.

  • I use vst's in Reason Record for sampling and recording, check me out.

  • I found a way you can sample and record vst's in Reason Record, check me out.

  • Don't mislead them. You can't "slice" samples as you can in recycle, in Reason....otherwise, why would you need to buy Recycle. Reason allows very limited options for sample editing/slicing....which sucks! For people who base their production on sampling...every other Daw has great options within the program for easy, automated slicing/editing within the program. FL Studio is the best option, in my opinion, for this "type" of application. Further, FL can host Reason via Rewire, sick!

  • Comment removed

  • In the video it says "prerogative" as the sample... but I cant find this one. Would be cool to check out that sample-kit.

  • If you have recycle to slice your samples and you got the kong drum designer.you got a dangerous combination.you can also use your mpc or drum machine as a midi controller to get a real feel.

  • just got it, time to go to college. anyone know how kong compares to BATTERY of NI?

  • @tintala Battery is far less intuitive....but gives a lot more options.

  • already instaled :)

  • OH DIOS MIO OH DIOS MIO OH DIOS MIOOOOOOOOOO , ESTO ME VA A AYUDAR MUCHISIMO ES LA REAL BOMBA

  • @TheUAboMb125

How about designing your own sounds and not rely on others? Copying stuff makes that every dancetrack sounds the same nowadays.

  • Ok, so I noticed that they didn't let us hear any acoustic sounds. What's up with that???

  • cool

  • Got it like 8 hours ago and I'm still going strong

  • @jondoeproductions Maybe you should go see a doctor about that... It says right on the box that it shouldn't last that long.

  • @TheUAboMb125 Yeah they are all in there, I just got Reason 5 and it's the shiznik!!!

  • @music4all80 you can most definitely do this. It was included in the final beta (don't know about earlier releases, I was in the final beta round) and the sold edition

  • sick! i need to upgrade

  • Recommendations on a midi controller for Kong? Korg padKONTROL??

  • What interests me most, is if there finally are decent heavy guitar (drop D) and bass guitar instruments or if reason is still for electronic music only. Does anyone know?

  • Is awesome....and skineable (I bet nobody know it until NOW) :DDDD

  • this looks like endless awesome fun :D

  • @TheUAboMb125 Pretty sure it's a demo song in Reason 5 so the samples are found there and part of the factory sound bank.

  • @PropellerheadSW hi i am a fl user and going to try out reason 5 but does anyone know vids for newbies on how to use it ? (Reason5)

  • Anyone know where i can find reason 5 torrent for free? got reason 4 but want to upgrade.

  • Comment removed

  • woooow this has some fat minimal

  • Hey Propellerhead, I got a community of people asking my opinion about Propellerheads new Reason 5, I'm selling it like I'm an affiliate, I'd love to be an official salesman, if interested, reach back.

  • Tchek out my newest video! I remixed this video.. Hope you like it... Btw thanks to all PROPELLERHEADS for this amzing software!!

  • Comment removed

  • 0:20- 0:40 what is beat ? please name!

  • @jarawrs they probably made it in reason you tool

  • i want one!

  • 0:20-040 DOPE BEAT!!!!!!! WHAT IS THE NAME OF IT?! PLEASE TELL ME!!

  • @galbz No there's a sample slicer in Reason. Check out the live sampling microtutorial we did.

  • @PropellerheadSW I think he's looking for an actual slicer and not that tinker toy you guys are passing off as a "slicer".

  • can u also like in phatmatik have one big sample and slice it and put it on different pads easily?

  • 0:26-0:28 and 0:29-0:30 where are those clips from? Please tell me if anyone knows

  • Remember I was here.Thai

  • 2 questions:

1 - Can we load rock-style drum samples, or is it just hip-hop/trance/techno drums?

2 - Do we need Reason to use Kong Drum?

  • @neuroxik Yes, you can load Rock samples, etc.....and yes, you will need Reason 5 to work with Kong, but have you seen the tutorials produced on Kong? what i find truly astounding is the fact that it's important to realize that Kong is a sound designer, you create the sound as you go, and if you can know or understand the filters, frequencies and algorithms of drums then you can literally start your own drum sample site.....

  • Will Reason 5 rewire into Sonar 8.5 64bit? Please answer.....

  • @ShadowsofSmoke I'll look into that for you.

  • @ShadowsofSmoke ReWire is 32 bit, so not at this time. Perhaps Props will update ReWire to 64 bit soon? :)

  • Kong is God, all wrapped up in a PC...

  • OMG!!!!!! WTF!!!! KONG!!!! OMFG!!!! Gonna buy this software asap. who cares that it costs 1/3 of my months pay.

  • Can guitar players benefit from this or is this midi only

  • @cast390 yes, guitar players can definitely build from this

  • must buy now

  • Comment removed

  • Can this be controlled with NI Maschine?
