It is so difficult for a man to be pure in mind and spirit in our society. I pray more people will realize they need God to lead them through their lives. If you base a relationship (marriage, friendship, family, etc.) on your own desires it will fail. I've seen it through my relatives and myself. Jesus Christ's unconditional love and forgiveness is the only foundation I know that sustains real relationships.

Is it just me or is that every song I hear is always in some form relating back to a insufficiency within people. The need for a wife to be lead with all these questions and statements like "Lead Me", "do you love me", "don't leave me", "Am I still the love of your life", "I feel alone".

This song encourages you to not think for yourself. Christ said the Kingdom of God is in you. There is no need for external fulfillment just "BE" & "LIVE" your God given mind will do the rest.
God also created us to be relational beings(Genesis 1:26-28, 2:18). Therefore while we may not need external fulfillment, we are fulfilled externally, and likewise we can be discouraged. Ephesians 5:21-33 speaks of marital submission and being followed. While the wife will follow, this verse also speaks of man as head of the house similarly to how Christ is the head of the church; this includes love, honor, respect, and godly leadership ( also see Colossians 3:18-19). @ppppppp07 God created us to have fellowship with Him. He is to be preeminent in all parts of our lives. Colossians 1:18. It is important that you know that He is the One that is to lead us and that we not lead ourselves astray from Him. The Kingdom of God is within us but, it has been made reality through Him and Him alone. It is within us that He reigns and it is through Him that we have victory and we overcome this world.
I think you are missing the point of the song. God called man and woman to be one. We are to be a unity in Christ. In this world, it is difficult sometimes and we get sidetracked. I know my house is better when my husband is the the head of the household and steps up to be the man that God has called him to be. It is his responsibility to lead our family.

So much has happened in the past 8 months since I posted...but all in all, things are getting easier to handle in my life and in my childrens' lives. Thank you for your prayers. My children are getting to know God in a new way by singing and praying and I am just amazed at how they have grown spiritually and otherwise. I never thought I could really teach them much about God, but God is helping me to do just that.

I can see myself living by this song. Letting God take over my life and help me lead my family in the path that he wants us to go. :) Sometimes, i want to be drowned in God's presence but it's hard, being 21 years old. There is always the outside influence but with God, i can do all things :)

It is so difficult for a man to be pure in mind and spirit in our society. I think this song is a battle cry for all men who want to change how satan has taken over our lives, by destroying our families and breaking up our homes. What a wonderful thing God has given these men through their music to change lives and heal our world. Blessings and Joy to Sanctus Real for filling men's minds with God's will and strength.

I pray more people will realize they need God to lead them through their lives. If you base a relationship (marriage, friendship, family, etc.) on your own desires it will fail. I've seen it through my relatives and myself. Jesus Christ's unconditional love and forgiveness is the only foundation I know that sustains real relationships.

One of my all time favorite songs. Plus one of my favorite writers Jason Ingram cowrote this song. He has a new worship band that is doing incredible things for christian music and worship called One Sonic Society. really worth checking out

This is a man singing this song. No need to contribute it to a deity. It's a beautiful song - don't ruin it with divinity. The singer, the human being - he is the one who deserves the credit.

@DanielWMcDonough You do realize this is a song in which he's asking God to lead him and his family? He says "Father, lead me." So HE'S (the singer) attributing it to God. And you could never "ruin" a song with divinity.

@mmckLA Which is your interpretation and, quite possibly/probably, the singer's. But like with everything else, a god is not required. We have real fathers. And yes, you can very much ruin something by applying fantasy over something very real.
I choose not to argue with creationists beliefs beyond initially pointing out the major flaws. It's futile, so you have the floor from here on out.

Made this song my ring tone for when my husband calls me. This song is wonderful. I bought this album when Forgiven came out and played it over and over. This is still one of the most touching songs for me. My husband of 16 years and I have had our ups and downs. I know this song means as much to him as it does me. Thanks guys!

I never cried so hard when I heard this song, and I still do....The Lord is sooo perfect. my husband and I recovering addicts, and we have so much garbage to put out. Is it just me or is that every song I hear is always in some form relating back to a insufficiency within people. The need for a wife to be lead with all these questions and statements like "Lead Me", "do you love me", "don't leave me", "Am I still the love of your life", "I feel alone".
Wake up People!
This song encourages you to not think for yourself. Christ said the Kingdom of God is in you. There is no need for external fulfillment just "BE" & "LIVE" your God given mind will do the rest.

God also created us to be relational beings(Genesis 1:26-28, 2:18). Therefore while we may not need external fulfillment, we are fulfilled externally, and likewise we can be discouraged. Ephesians 5:21-33 speaks of marital submission and being followed. While the wife will follow, this verse also speaks of man as head of the house similarly to how Christ is the head of the church; this includes love, honor, respect, and godly leadership ( also see Colossians 3:18-19). @ppppppp07 God created us to have fellowship with Him. He is to be preeminent in all parts of our lives. Colossians 1:18. It is important that you know that He is the One that is to lead us and that we not lead ourselves astray from Him. The Kingdom of God is within us but, it has been made reality through Him and Him alone. It is within us that He reigns and it is through Him that we have victory and we overcome this world.

I think you are missing the point of the song. God called man and woman to be one. We are to be a unity in Christ. In this world, it is difficult sometimes and we get sidetracked. I know my house is better when my husband is the the head of the household and steps up to be the man that God has called him to be. It is his responsibility to lead our family.

I heard this song and am a single mom with 3 children and this song really speaks to me about how I lost my husband to another woman and also how I need to be there for my kids now as both a mother and a father to give my kids the stable loving home they deserve. Father God, won't you help lead me to lead my children to have a good life again? Amen

@jsfroese I heard this song before the CD was released, and also the story behind it, here on You Tube and it bought tears to my eyes when I figured the chords out on my "Ukulele"... I gifted this song to to friends who are fathers themselves as a plee for us husbands to answer the call that God has entrusted to us! Thank you for sharing your story here, and as a striving "Godly" father I can only offer my prayers to you and your children, may God's Will unfold in you life!!!

@abien777 Thank you abien777. I am learning about what God's will is going to be. So much has happened in the past 8 months since I posted...but all in all, things are getting easier to handle in my life and in my childrens' lives. Thank you for your prayers. My children are getting to know God in a new way by singing and praying and I am just amazed at how they have grown spiritually and otherwise. I never thought I could really teach them much about God, but God is helping me to do just that.

I am faced everyday with non believers at school and people who always try to put me down. well God is still strong with me he helps me get over the non believers and it's amazing he helped me get over my Godfather' s death in 07 and he helped get over my great grandmas death this year 9-11-10 ★

I can see myself living by this song. Letting God take over my life and help me lead my family in the path that he wants us to go. :) Sometimes, i want to be drowned in God's presence but it's hard, being 21 years old. There is always the outside influence but with God, i can do all things :)
