I saw Stone Sour live with Disturbed and A7X last year, and Corey and Shadows can still scream just as well as they could in the studio (Get Inside sounded a lot like his vocals from Everything Ends, and the A7X sounded basically the same). A7X made a couple announcements that they were going to try and make a few hardcore albums, then soften things up, but apparently everyone forgot about that.

As it is, I've always been more of a sucker for Stone Sour than Slipknot. Corey shows a lot more diversity in his voice. I have respect for Slipknot though. When it comes to metal, I prefer old school stuff like Iron Maiden, 80s Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Testament, Iced Earth, Flotsam & Jetsam, etc.
