great! i love hearing those lines played on that tele....you've got that hip message juxtaposed with that snotty (in a good way) fender tone and i'm saying that you are a complete success. School? What school? Play that for your teacher, whoever he is, and he'll think that HE'S the genius.
I'm totally new to the diminished scale and it's kinda nice to find a vid that uses the entire scale instead of just the partial/arpeggio thingy...plus you sound great
I will steel some of your ideas here! Please do not report me to the music police - after all we all learn from other people...with the exception of very few...
kalahar007: Are you trying to pass off this guitar playing as your own?? I know that this is Robben's actual playing - you're just fingering notes. I have this instructional DVD. LOL
that is awesome! any chance you can do a follow up with some narration of the kinds of scales/arps that you used. I'm trying really hard to get into this style of playing.
You can use pretty much anything you want in that respect, it just has to be done in an effective manner (i.e phrasing, bringing it back in w/ timing etc) This was a good example of that usage for sure. I actually do some lessons on these things. Just free videos on my page here, check it out if you want.
ha, you got it, cool as hell

yes, you can use the melodic minor scale a half step above the root of a dom7 chord if you want.
