Rock music in the early 90's was in such a sad sorry state with Grunge continuing the same old formulae, It needed a band like Oasis to bring rock back to basics and give it good ol' kick in the knackers. They were called "copyists" by a load of folk but What they did was take Beatles, Sex Pistols, The Who, T.Rex, Smiths etc. and mix it all together to make a perfect rock sound. This song in paticular is a right upbeat ass-kicker. Sort o' track you put on just before going out.

yes there is a clear melodic similarity between this and Uptight by Stevie Wonder. but if u just listen to this with open ears, it isnt reminiscent of it at all, the moods of the 2 songs are completely different, Uptight is about keepin a secret, Step Out is about going out and having a great night
