Would it be about casting techniques, analyzing the stream or understanding insects, your videos are by far the best made and the most helpful I've seen on Youtube. The midwest is quite a ways out of Quebec city but I'll make sure to stop at your shop in one of my future fishing trips. Thank you for sharing the knowledge Tim.
So cool that you matched your fly lures to the real insects. Thanks for pointing out having the right size fly to match the size of the insects during certain times of year. This video is excellent.
hey tim, im from boise id, ive been fly fishing for 2 years, not till now, ive been blind fly fishing, your to the point, articulate, incredibly instructive, just this video alone, talking about the real skill of identifying the fish diet, amazing this is really helping out
Seems like so many people bypass the stream check. It is absolutely imperative that you check the water to see what food is present both in and out of the water. Not all foods for fish live in the water, some fly and land on the surface!
When I buy flies, I hold the fly from the eye and look UP at the BOTTOM of the fly into some light. I do this because that is how the trout will see the fly. And do your best to "match the hatch".
@backinthehole Great tip. I'm brand new to fly fishing and I agree this tip seems crucial to make sure your fishing with the right color, nymphs, etc. Thanks a bunch.
Great video!
