This is the THIRD court case like this for this show. People stop buying pets from pet stores! You are encouraging puppy mills and puppy farms doing this. This is a horrible way to get a pet! Pet stores do not sell puppies from reputable breeders no matter WHAT they tell you!

@Reneelwaring There are other options. You can go to breed specific rescues. For instance if you want a Lab then go to the Lab rescue organization in your area. All breeds have rescue organizations. You can look online for their organization contact info, applications etc.

the law cited from CT is amazing. No matter where you live in the US you really should check the local shelters -- chocolate labs are a pretty common breed, right?!!! Breeders are too often busted for terrible conditions these days and we should be supporting our local non profit shelters "out of principle"!!! I'm in Colorado and paid $750 for a precious basset hound. I was told she had kennel cough and given a prescription for her when I took her home. She was diagnosed with double pneumonia and NO WAY does a vet let you take the animal home...they need iv's and medication and to be in a special contraption for nebulizing because the animal needs to be in a closed environment for the nebulizer....I didn't see my pup for a week ass she was in extreme trouble. She turned out fine & the store paid all.

@LuciFrederiksen 3 dogs is not a bit much if you have the space for them and the time. I have two large dogs over 90 lbs each & a cat. We are thinking of adopting a yellow lab now. We have plenty of time to give rescue dogs a good home. The alternative for these dogs is death at the shelter. Due to the economy the number of dogs being dumped at shelters is staggering. I only adopt from a shelter. I had a dog that I got from a shelter before, and I found out that after getting her that she was sick for a long time without knowing it at the time of adoption and Dr's will state if the dog was sick before. I didn't return our dog because things like that happens with a pound puppy. I think the lady's vet was unsure. Anyways, I know someone that has bought a dog and that store policy was that the first two weeks the dog gets taken for free to the store's vet.
