its not only the san fran bay area. Its n.e. pennsylvania also. I have the same problem with the iPhone as i do the original black jack. 3g here and there..other times its the edge.

The HTC Diamond is way better than Omnia and Iphone. Iphone major problem is that is a fashion phone,looks nice no argument about that,but still is just too copyrighted,lacks to many things to be the right phone.Omnia looks nice too, but it's display is strange,just too narrow,in other words it hasn't got the right proportions.If there's anything that can compete with the HTC Diamond that's definitely the Omnia,in no case the Iphone. 00Ghz: It's not crap. The HTC has a really small screen and the Samsung looks and from what I can see feels like and imitation iPhone. Apple make really good qouality products. It's funny though, as it seems Apple havne't learnt from there past mistakes. Before the "great re brand" I mean, they are still over protective of their operating system. You can order the 3G s since yesterday. But apart from the compaaass (arrr!) it has no feature I would spend 100€ extra €uros on. So Ill stick to the "old" 3G and still have a high-tec telephone.
It costs 100€ extra where you are? I don't know what it will cost here, I'm in sweden so I will have to wait for it come out in july. Also I like the compass feature (mostly in the GPS) but the thing I like the most is "tap to focus" on camera. You said on the recent message that that you hadn't bought one yet but I assume you have now.
A Diamond and 3G really rocks (YouTube, Internet, etc). I sympathise with your 3G problems. I visited North America (Canada) last year and could only get Edge. It felt like I was stuck in a developing country.

After watching your review I'm happy that I bought the HTC Diamond. The Omnia looks like a serious contender, but the iPhone just isn't for me. I'm way under 60 and know a little bit about technology and computers, so it really doesn't do half of what I want from my phone (no stereo Bluetooth, no video clips, no MMS, etc, etc).

No one of all these reviews, has done a demo video on the phone , afterall, these ARE phones! It would've been good to see how the phones operate and compare.

I had the Touch Diamond and replaced it with an iPhone 3G. Couldn't be any happier! My dad recently bought the Touch HD and even that one doesn't compare to my iPhone. iphone is just better in apperance,but when we talk about the system,diamond will win easily.And of course,u can run many kinds of softwares on wm system,even some softwares for iphone.iphone also has the problem of bluetooth
Apple just make things that are locked down, idiot proof and basically for people with no idea how to use OS's. They market to people who need simplicity and that is how they got away with under speccing the iphone. Everything is controlled by apple or done thru plans, so if you are a power user, (or basically have some idea of how to figure out OS's) the iphone is a dissappointment. Not to mention overpriced.
What you said is actually true for all Apple products and not just for iPhone. I have sold all my iPods and got Creative ZEN. Zen isn't that cool hardware but it can be used with any computer. Just drug and drop mp3 files and video and they just play. It's not jailed with iTunes like all iPods and it costs less.
i had an omnia and now ilove the iphone and i feel the iphone is better, and of course i can use a OS, although wimo is so flat and boring it works, the OS on the iphone is so more fluent and makes up for the lac of specs, although wimo has alot of specs its hard to get to them all because of the clunky interface.
Jailbroken iPhone is much better then one that isnt and it also greatly surpasses the other two phones. When it is jailbroken you get everything that apple keeps from you(video camera,different themes, more settings and control, etc.) and you still get the user-friendliness of the iPhone + the most responsive touch screen + jailbreaking is free.
The Omnia to me seems really shitty to use...i personally like the iPhone best as it seems to be the easiest and most flowing phone eventhough it dosnt have all the features of the HTC which is a great phone as i have used one but had some trouble with hitting the buttons (i like using my finger)... the iPhone has the smoothest touch screen which i love

I have a moto Q9m right now, and i have no problem with windows mobile. thats why i just got the omnia. The omnia kills the other two. the reason i have never bought a mac product EVER is because of what he said in this series of videos, all mac products are a striped down version of what microsoft puts out(up until vista). i hate vista because they are dumbing down windows to go after the mac users, and they did a horrible job.

ah, but the true mark of a high powered OS is how easy it is to use. the iPhone is based on BSD Unix, so it's the most powerful OS on any phone today. You can tweak it all you want, you've just never used one.
It's similar to why all power users run Macs, not Windows... far more flexibility without breaking with Apple based equipment.

No one of all these reviews, has done a demo video on the phone , afterall, these ARE phones! It would've been good to see how the phones operate and compare.
In the meantime, I am still looking and watching.

The only bad thing about the iphone is that you cant capture video unless you jailbreak it,but im not gonna need a video capture function anyway.I have my video camera:)

I also bought 'Clearcam' in Cydia. It makes the 2MP a 4MP camera.
Not hardware-wise, of course but the quality does improve.. I use Cycorder to capture video..
If you want I can do a video on those..

I had the Touch Diamond and replaced it with an iPhone 3G. Couldn't be any happier! My dad recently bought the Touch HD and even that one doesn't compare to my iPhone. I have to admit though, that I'm an huge Apple fanboy since my 1st gen Shuffle. Still, Apple is quality, HTC is quality, Sony Ericsson is quality, but I don't like Samsung. Prove me wrong?
I had 2 Nokias, 2 Sony Ericssons, 2 HTC's and now 1 Apple. Apple beats all on time of writing this comment.

i just bought it. it is still in the mail. i will upload a video review about it probably at the end of next week. just keep checking on my channel for it. sorry i didnt tell you about that part. it looks like a great phone and it has wifi which is the first verizon phone to have it i think. anyways it looks awesome and i cant wait to get it. the iphone is probably better, but for the price of 3g networks and the phone, its not worth it.

Apple just make things that are locked down, idiot proof and basically for people with no idea how to use OS's. They market to people who need simplicity and that is how they got away with under speccing the iphone. Everything is controlled by apple or done thru plans, so if you are a power user, (or basically have some idea of how to figure out OS's) the iphone is a dissappointment. Not to mention overpriced.

What you said is actually true for all Apple products and not just for iPhone. I have sold all my iPods and got Creative ZEN. Zen isn't that cool hardware but it can be used with any computer. Just drug and drop mp3 files and video and they just play. It's not jailed with iTunes like all iPods and it costs less.

i had an omnia and now ilove the iphone and i feel the iphone is better, and of course i can use a OS, although wimo is so flat and boring it works, the OS on the iphone is so more fluent and makes up for the lac of specs, although wimo has alot of specs its hard to get to them all because of the clunky interface.

Jailbroken iPhone is much better then one that isnt and it also greatly surpasses the other two phones. When it is jailbroken you get everything that apple keeps from you(video camera,different themes, more settings and control, etc.) and you still get the user-friendliness of the iPhone + the most responsive touch screen + jailbreaking is free.

The Omnia to me seems really shitty to use...i personally like the iPhone best as it seems to be the easiest and most flowing phone eventhough it dosnt have all the features of the HTC which is a great phone as i have used one but had some trouble with hitting the buttons (i like using my finger)... the iPhone has the smoothest touch screen which i love

I have a moto Q9m right now, and i have no problem with windows mobile. thats why i just got the omnia. The omnia kills the other two. the reason i have never bought a mac product EVER is because of what he said in this series of videos, all mac products are a striped down version of what microsoft puts out(up until vista). i hate vista because they are dumbing down windows to go after the mac users, and they did a horrible job.

ah, but the true mark of a high powered OS is how easy it is to use. the iPhone is based on BSD Unix, so it's the most powerful OS on any phone today. You can tweak it all you want, you've just never used one.
It's similar to why all power users run Macs, not Windows... far more flexibility without breaking with Apple based equipment.
