The lights are whelen halogen. These are from a 1990's Dodge Ambulance. They were bumper mounted.

If there was a way to combine the tone of the x-ecutor, and the range and speed of the eq2b...you'd definitely have something going on there!

The X-Ecutor 1 was the first all-electronic sirens to accurately reproduce the "growler" siren tone (typified by the Federal Signal Q2B-022NNSD electromechanical siren); it unfortunately tops out short of the 1000 Hz minimum peak specified in 13 CCR 1029 and is therefore illegal for new emergency-vehicle installs in California. Federal Signal had no such problem with the later e-Q2B, which hits 1200 Hz.

Great demo of these 2 famous sirens and even though I own an Xecutor, the Federal air horn sounds better but I still prefer the Xecutor wail. Sorry for you EQ lovers, the EQ is too high pitched in my opinion.Would love to hear this demo at 300 feet distance.

I much prefer the X-Ecutor, but the eQ2b is not to be discounted. Of course, a real electromechanical siren is preferable to either.

Very nice! The Eq2b's siren wind down sounds cooler and sounds closer to the real Q siren, but the Whelen X-ecutor siren is more cherishable and has higher dps ratings. Awesome video of the two!

@dunitlol Any siren with the eQ's air horn would be better, it has the best air horn of any electronic siren, even better than some straight up air dirven air horns. I love this siren. We have it on our Tanker (1217) and I love it.

Gosh.... hard to decide. The Whelen X-ecutor is one of my all time favorite sirens, but i have to say. I like the Eq's tone better.....
