Such powerful lyrics. I was fortunate to see him sing this song here in St. Louis during his last tour. No other song make me feel as much emotion inside as this one.
Amazing, The Smiths and Morrissey have created some of the best music of all time...This song is indescribable, its like a warm cloud descending upon you!
Moz, I am lost to express my gratitude to you you have been my true friend in the speakers for so long & I wish you so much happiness, thank you uploader too. XX
I am a poor freezingly cold soul So far from where I intended to go Scavenging through life's very constant lulls So far from where I'm determined to go Wish I knew the way to reach the one I love There is no way ... Wish I had the charm to attract the one I love But you see, I've got no charm Mmm... Tonight I've consumed much more than I can hold Oh, this is very clear to you And you can tell I have never really loved You can tell, by the way, I sleep all day
'And you can tell I have never really loved. You can tell by the way I sleep all day.' Surely one of the best lines in pop history? At least i think so anyway.
It is always a pleasure to hear Morrissey pull out an early solo or Smiths song. His voice has gotten much deeper with age and better for that matter. Say what you will, but at 50, he does a better job of Smiths or solo stuff then he did at 25-35.
Best part of the Chicago Show. I was pleasantly surprised this song that touched me so much as a teen touched me with as much intensity 16 years later.
The Moz goes beyond the constraint of physical or mental emotion, the normal yet fragile roles of being, the written words of expression, or even sexuality it seems. But it does not matter, no matter what, because he does it so beautifully, so real and so meaningful. He effortlessly cuts through to heart like no other. Viva Morrissey!
Peut-être un jour, en écoutant cette chanson, aura-t'elle une pensée pour moi, comme j'en ai chaque jour pour elle ?

And all of my life no-one gave me anything
No-one has ever given me anything
My love is as sharp as a needle in your eye
You must be such a fool to pass me by...

I love this song! MORRISSEY is the only artist in this whole sick world that can put tears in my eyes and yet can make me smile at the same moment.

I'm pretty sure it's his trusty Gibson Triny Lopez. Since his arrival in the band, it's primarily been used for Smiths' songs.
