Hilary Hahn: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Until i listened to her, i didn't know how beautiful the violin was. i don't know what it is, but heifetz, perlman, mintz, they just don't have quite the same effect as hilary. I'm not being sexist , but maybe it's because she's a woman, and she doesn't have a rough tone and it sounds more lyrical. Anyway it's a good thing. I'm not saying that being able to play paganini's 24 caprice at 10 times it's original speed with perfect intonation is a bad thing. (heifetz lol)

The first time I heard her on the radio I pulled over and stopped the car -- only she and Gil Shaham have that wondrous power of the current crop of violinists. And it is SO NICE to have a woman of this talent get this recognition! Thanks for posting this.
