i just got starcraft 2 a little less then a week ago. im completly new to strategy games, but i'v been watching day9's daily's for a long time now, but i still never found out. whats the best way to get good/decent at the game? play through the campaign first and privet matches with AI?

@VideoSk8Rs34 no the best way to get better is to find good builds on sites like Day9's and then practice the heck out of them on ladder :D

@VideoSk8Rs34 Go directly into 1v1s on ladder, sure you will have to work your way up from bronze, but you get skill way faster that way. And play some teamgames too, its nice because you have to keep track of up to 7 other players and macro, so you will get more of a calm state when your playing 1v1s, where theres just u and that other guy you have to brutally murder :) gl hf.

@VideoSk8Rs34 Ok simply put Campaign , 1vs1 with computer and Player vs. Player match in ladder are all different game TOTALLY ! Have fun and learn basics in Campaign or AI matches but don't focus on them or try to learn from them just get accustomed to the game then play Ladder matchs RIGHT AWAY ! Even when playing campaing of vs AI seperate your time playing vs computr to vs humans . At the end you will want to only play ladder matches and climb that shit like escalator damnn! :D

Macro= basically what you build , how you harvest minireals and gas and how you put that into use building harvesters or attacking units / getting tech advancmnt so on . as in Micro= How you put to use what you build already to action.using your attackng units in a good way that they dont die easily etc, but you wont be able to do evrythng at once so dont worry at first you build that in time

@VideoSk8Rs34 1. play the campaign this will teach basics (and the campaign is awesome and needs attention) 2. 1v1 with computers, practice builds 3. when you feel like you are familiar with the game (just know the basics) go online you will learn faster this way 4. watch your replays as often as possible, if you watch day9 you know whats wrong and right, so identify what you are doing wrong in the replays and fix it either online, with friends or against a computer. 5. HAVE FUN!!!

@VideoSk8Rs34 Sc2 was my first RTS game as well, and when i first got it, I sucked ASS. I'm still not that great, but I've now top gold, where I'm learning to actually play games and honestly people don't cheese as much. The biggest thing you can do is honestly watch day9 daily number 261 - newbie tuesday: mechanics #2 and if you can find it, mechanics #1. I barely was able to beat normal campaign before watching it, and I'm almost done brutal now :)

@Enballgroda1 Still, it only takes 2 buildings, and he didnt have air upgrades or colossi. And ye its more than no tech, but what he says is meant for noobs, so that they know what to do. There is no need for air at that time in bronze-platinum. ;)

@BestChannelEver2011 I happen to be in platinum and I say it kinda matters since zerg usually want to get brood lords during the late game. However I must note that I play on the European server and the general skill level is somewhat higher I have been informed on the European servers compared to the american ones so perhaps in America I would count as a diamond :/

@Enballgroda1 Im in low-mid masters european, and even there many players struggle late game because they lack a plan just as he says. Anyway you will meet better and worse players in all leagues, and blink micro+archons should clean up the low number of broodlords they will have in bronze-platinum. Platinum isnt bad, but the game in top master/GM is something completely different. Anyway, how many games will end up in 25min +, not many, if you dont want them to.
