和老版比差远了，新版演员气质方面总赶不上丁力和文强，可能是演­员的阅历不够，新版的毕竟是大陆的学校毕业的，不仅呆板而且学生­气太重，野性也不够，没在平民区呆过就是不行啊。

老版的那一代演员是天才，而且80年代那个社会环境也再也不会有­了，所以说老版是无法超越的，过了20多年再看，还是惊叹于文强­和丁力的演技，太神了。

i think when you're translating a song, you HAVE TO change some words to fit with the melody. if you translate it almost word by word (like they did in this one), then it just sounds odd. i've heard mandarin versions of this song and they sounded good. but this one is... okay.

however, i think the "love you hate you" (ai ni hung ni) part always sounds better in cantonese. lol

@dycarbon1 i totally agree with you about this song sounds way better in cantonese. cantonese wasthe original version so it will always be the best. this song is sung into so many language such as mandarin, thai, vietnamese, cambodian, spanish, and english. i heard the english version once on youtube but i didn't save it so now i can't find it anymore. if you know where i can get the english version then please let me know. thanks.

if you guys find the old version better then thats your choice , my choice is the latest one of HXM , he did it so good and the entire cast and even the translation of the song to mandarin is nice also, whoever don' like it is so dumb.....

Yes, you may think that the new version and this song in mandarin is the better. However, to us old die-hards from those years, the version by Chow Yun Fatt and company is the best. The original cantonese version of this song by Frances Yip is the best. It really brings out the flavour. Mind you, I'm not from Hong Kong and neither am I a cantonese.
