i recently started drumming too and i really want to learn how to drum to this song. i am good at keeping rythym most of the time but for some reason i can not get the hi hat or snare to stay in sync with the music... any tips on how to improve?

practice with metronome and try to consentrate to the snare and hihats. play the song as many times as you can. Recording your playing is good way too to check what's going wrong and then consentrate to it. If you have some point what you can get down play again and again. But yeah work the snare and hats with metronome.

Buy b8 but in my opinion you should try paiste alpha because they are pretty good cymbals but doesn't cost your whole fortune. And You should check out dream cymbals too. some of them sound like zildjian k.
