  • Thanks for posting this! Such a great album, so it's really nice to see the processes they took to develop the song structure. I love that they focus on every aspect of the album...the music, the artwork, the musical moods and themes. They are my favorite band. Even if you don't like their music, you have to at least appreciate the dedication they put in their art.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • It's great so actually see a band that does EVERYTHING themselves. Now that's art.

  • haha i love how you can barely see scott kelly

  • if Neurosis was a woman, I'd love to marry her

  • God this shit carries so much brutallity like a contolled balanced rage with harmony lol

  • fuckin fuckin fuckin fuckin fuckin fuckin fuck shit cunt this band is so great

  • I can't wait to see the promotional film for their next album.

    I want it NAO

  • Is this full length or just a trailer?

If it's just a trailer can somebody tell me where i can find the whole thing?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Its weird I spent years listening to neurosis, but never knew that every band that I listened to was listening to them secretly. They have to be the most influential band in my world right now. I couldn't imagine life without them now.

  • Neurosis was and is and probably will be one of my favorite bands for years to come. They are so connected, organic, and primal. It's like looking at a beautiful landscape or a violent storm.

  • interesting

  • A very different and awe inspiring sound these guys play but totally epic...If u live by moutains go up the moutaind and park and play this album with your windows down and the music turned low but high enough to understand and smoke weed...I guarentee you will feel the raw emotion they put into making this album...It absolutly amazing and inspiring...thumbs up if you agree

  • their music never gets old, but neurosis, release a new album, please!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Neurosis is one of the few bands that actually pull off a more is more aesthetic rather than a less is more and have it work! Fucking brilliance!

  • why is scott kelly hidden in the shadows?

  • @georgejonez cuz he's scott kelley

  • This is by far the best Josh Graham artwork, I don't know, all the others seem way over-processed.

  • @ImethIaddictI totally agree ! Except Times of Grace but i don't know if he did it..

  • Neurosis is art at its finest.

    The Giger of music.

  • Definitly art as it's finset! I would say Neurosis is major aquired taste since mainstream people will never get them or even scratch the surface of the depth of there work.

  • they're just so much more than a band.

fuckin' maroon 5 are a band.

Neurosis doesn't even measure up in the same category.

    They're truly inspirational.

  • WH ydoes Von Till sound like he gargles kittens and chainsaws for breakfast followed by the blood of a war victim as juice ... Such a deep tone ...

  • "We are the ones recording it, we are the ones doing the artwork and doing all the hard work to promoting it and everything. That's craftsmanship. That's true art." -- Steve Von Till

  • for me they are one of the few bands that are seems to be real musicians who try to extend the limits of music, and not just hanging out in the industry of entertainment for money

i live next to the Heroes square at Budapest !! :)

  • Neurosis Rules!!!

  • I mean the first song they're playing live?

  • think the one you mean is is Distill (watching the swarm)

  • what's the first song?

  • That lives through neurosis, that great band

  • cant believe out of all the best albums by them you named, noone named souls at zero....yes they were just coming out of there punk stages...but holy shit!!!!this album is amazing.

  • i agree, souls at zero is a fucking iceberg.. u c only a top at the beginning.. every fucking song on it is genius, i love them all.

  • wHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT FALL OUT BOY??

  • lolzz!!!

  • @soulcrusher8

no one so why is it this comment that i see at the top of this video?

i dont see why your even mentioning them, they are so far below the astral plain that neurosis are on.

  • @soulcrusher8 Thank you!

  • I removed it as the source is gone.

  • well thats fucking retarded. why do you douches have such a hard time excepting the truth.

  • yeah well believe it!

  • i learned that the guitarist is a big fan of metal in the newest issue of guitar world (he was even wearing a mastodon t shirt) so the i looked up FOB on wikipedia and found out they used to be a hardcore punk band. and if you go to the guitarists article it talks about how he met the singer and they both liked neurosis!

  • true, i have the first few neurosis cds which are punk "Pain of mind", "shortwave warfare" and "the word as law"

  • Comment removed

  • youll never beleive this but the singer and lead guitarist for fall out boy are big fans of neurosis! im fuckin serious! that blew my mind when i learned that!

  • whered did u hear this, link please

  • That's what Wikipedia says but the source doesn't exist anymore.

  • Bullshit. No one with such intimate knowledge of great music would turn out such emo shit.

    Bull-fucking-shit.

  • I could believe. Pete's favorite band's the Smiths apparently.

  • that figures, smiths are rubbish.

who even cares what that loser thinks about music anyway.

He made his choice to play that drooling crap excuse for music, if you dont acknowledge it, it ceases to exist :)

  • I want the live video thats featured in this , anyone know if its out there somewhere in a longer format ?

  • really good album

  • what is the song in the last 2 min of the trailer?

  • the song is Water Is Not Enough.. awesome fucking track!

  • The function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong then, I shall use my time.- Jack London

  • I love how "commitment" is a constant theme that the guys talk about in every interview.

They must be excellent dudes in person.

  • hey anyone know the song played throught this? band sounds decent, bit like mastodon in parts, might kain them up

    Horses....Remission? :p

  • No. More like it sounds like Neurosis, and Mastodon has some sounds that sound like Neurosis.

  • Yea it needs to be emphasized that Mastodon sounds like Neurosis in parts, not the other way around. Neurosis have been around since 1985. Mastodon sounds like a lot of bands but many don't realize this because these bands aren't that well known.

  • That's right. I read somewhere that Troy Sanders from Mastodon "worships" Times of Grace by Neurosis

  • Hell, Mastodon have all said that if it wasn't for Neurosis or The Melvins, they wouldn't exist

  • Steve Von Till sings on a couple Mastodon songs too.

  • wrong, scott kelly does

  • mastodon is nothing compared to neurosis. period. period. perioood.

  • agreed, honestly, i don't really like mastodon. at least over all. i like some songs, but, that's it.

  • Mastodon "would" be nothing without Neurosis.

  • you can't say that. maybe they would be popstars! haha. Mastodon and Neurosis rule.

  • @BloodAndThunder00 why is that?

  • @muffinsNsausage Scott Kelly from Neurosis was guest in Crack The Skye,Crystall Scul and a part of Aqua Dementia.I suggest u to search crack the skye :)

  • @panoskoni i realize that but to say that mastodon would be nothing without him is stupid because they wrote the song

  • @muffinsNsausage well the comment wasnt reffering to crack the skye though. Neurosis is one of Mastodon's biggest influences. Hell it might even be safe to say that maybe Neurosis IS their biggest influence. Without Neurosis... Mastodon probally wouldn't sound anything like they do now... And without Neurosis.... Music would be different.... They influence so many bands it'd be hard to find them all.... Hell they probally influence bands that dont even know who they are...

  • @BloodAndThunder00 Even Troy Sanders said that they wouldn't play that kind of music wihout Neurosis's "Times of Grace".

  • "We will do this till one or all of us are gone"...we can expect more neurosis albums in the future..yey

  • one of the greatest albums of all time...i love every minute of it.!!

  • it's a bit disappointing that they took some photos for their album artwork in budapest but no shows are planned there...

  • jaja, have to agree

  • che pacchianata!!!

  • well it does say in the description that it's a "Promotional film" I guess there are videos here, somewhere with just the music ;)

  • Stop being so American.

  • Geez what happened you to UK people, you use to be so tough minded, now I see alot of people bitch and making yourselves sound nothing better than most rich people in america. You think your so much different but your no better than our worst. have a problem with something? Deal with and stop cryin about it, does this promotion in this video end the whole fucking universe? NO, shut your mouth and watch the vid or don't I really don't care.

  • are you under the assumption that americans as a whole are rich? thats fuckin mind blowing, the class lines here are well defined and ive been lookin up at the poverty line for 22 years now. Dont give yourselves to much credit

  • Neurosis IS the heaviest band on the earth

  • lol @ Electric Wizard. Decent.

Needs more Pentagram and Witchfinder General

  • i'm not gonna sit here and shit on electric wizard, but there is NO WAY they're heavier than neurosis, man. you throw on a neurosis record and it's not just a heaviness of sound, but this heaviness of emotion. to me, it's like this perfect weight that is oppressive and uplifting. and ultimately the thing that really sets them apart is that they really are painting with more colors than a band like electric wizard.

  • What is the part from 0:00 to 0:32?

  • it's the 4th song on given to the rising

  • Have to say that a sun that never sets is their best work

  • Amazing Band...

I Olny Found "Though Silver In Blood" In Israel

    ):

  • i just discovered this band through mastodon actually. i think they have some great music there..

  • Neurosis's core is spiritualism in the root of traditional European Heathenism.

  • with as huge of a fan as i am of their music, i never give enough time to their lyrics...in fact they're my favorite next to a few others though they might surpass those bands/artists. so far, what i've gathered about them, i have a list of literary figures i've come to suspect as possible influences in their lives and music: jack london (an obvious one), nietzsche, aleister crowley, max stirner, anton lavey(?), and any other possible suspects who embrace nature, willpower, "egoism", and might.

  • blablablabla.....i read a lot of I never, I have, I've hathered....to much I,I,I...go listen this great music and enjoy!!

  • haha

  • I agree (except about LaVey...)

  • I have through silver in blood and I'am wondering what would be the best album to buy next, I want the same heavy doomyness, and not there newer progressive sound????????

  • Their progressive sound is new?

  • Well there not as heavy as through silver in blood , They've gone more post-rock on there new album and not sludge like on through silver in blood.

  • for me silver in blood is by far there best album with is stongs sounds. Dont think theyve really reproduced the aggressive sound of that album

  • Buy their all albums.

  • I have similar taste...unfortunately the band has repeatedly disowned Through Silver in Blood due to its "sludgey" sound. All subsequent Neurosis albums have a tinny, airy sound. Believe me, I bought them all. They love Steve Albini and all their albums strive toward that sterile, airless Albini sound.

  • You're not going to get it with any of their albums, unless you go backwards in time and pick up 'Enemy of the Sun'.

But really, 'Through Silver in Blood' will never be duplicated. That album is just unbelievable.

  • a sun that never sets.

  • This may sound stupid, but as a fan of extreme and atmospheric music, I am just now learning the beauty and majesty Neurosis brings to the world..and I admit, I feel like I have been missing out on something amazing over the years.

  • na dont feel stupid. if you like neurosis you should check out there other half called the tribes of neurot. same members but even more atmospheric.

  • I've been missing out as well. I found out about Neurosis through the Mastodon DVD.

And, I have to say it, I'm in love with Neurosis now.

  • I totally dig that Jack London quote. I'm going to go buy some cigarettes!

  • wlasnie ze niektorzy rozumieja pojebany idioto

  • No wlasnie. Widze ze tylko ty piszesz po polsku pizmaku.

  • FUCKING YES!

  • They explains a lot...

  • That stupid fucking Canuck kid made a total ass of himself. If he were that age in 1998 he would be trashing Through Silver in Blood and saying Korn is real metal.

    Dumbfuck

  • ...

I was born in the 90's, and love Neurosis. What?

  • You might not know what I'm talking about.

  • Yeah yeah yeah, I get the context of the argument. I think the broader note is that neurosis reaches special souls of all ages.

  • this band rocks the hell out of!!!

  • Neurosis Is Legend.

I'm happy that fuckin retarded kid couldn't understand neurosis. They aren't for everyone!

This album has so many angles, so many twists and turns.

    1.Times Of Grace

    2.Through Silver In Blood

    3.Given To The Rising

    4.The Eye Of Every Storm

    5.A Sun That Never Sets

  • neurosis is a complete understanding of life in itself. They are what we inhale as our 24 hour clock is refurbished every single day is another amazing piece of our existance. So,....on that thought, live another day and wait for that sun that never sets. disconnect.

  • Neurosis is connected in every way to the occult, which is quite obvious. So they are a part of that tradition which has been blurred out and occulted by the catholic church, among some other bands that are popular in the undertow today. So I wouldn't say they are a complete understanding of life, I'd say they are definitely a part of a complete understanding though. It is a great band.

  • Neurosis is one of the few bands that has been around for so long without coming even remotely close to selling out.

  • true artist of music and culture

  • Sounds a bit similar to Godflesh. I like it.

  • Nothing wrong with that is there?

  • Yu Arrt is wright... So wrogn... Waiting. Leviatian.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHH!

  • these guys are immense

  • Full agreement with neurosisfan. I just saw them the other night in Chicago, i'm still coming to terms with it. what i will say though, i was floored

  • HAIL NEUROSIS. I have chills as I type this. There is no band I've EVER seen live that is as POWERFUL, as DAMAGING, as Neurosis. I always try to post up right in front of Scott so his voice and guitar can just totally crush me.Long live Neurosis and the fans that know the secret...

  • i never expected this album to be so good... when i listened to it... i was like... OH MY FUCKING GOD!

  • demoluja!!!

  • There has never been another band to come close to these guys' within the past 10 years.

TOOL, good band, ...but on their last cd you can tell they're running out of artistic ideas.

Neurosis seems like they're just beginning to touch the surface of what's possible.

    Incredible!!!

  • I'm pretty certain that the guy on the phone is Scott Von Till. But.... who really cares, I can't believe how amazing this band is. I'd love to be in any sort of band where people hear a Neurosis influence.

  • It's Steve Von Till, not "Scott" Von Till.

  • talk about a fruedian slip. steve von till. i knew that too.

  • no i think you are right about the guy on the phone,i think it is dave.

  • i believe the guy on the phone is steve von till.dont hold me to it.I have been a fan for many years and thank you all for have artistic appreciation. Some loser made a vid where he was saying they suck, and trashing their cd.He obviously is a fan of emo and cant handle real artistic expression.Thank you all again.

  • yea I saw that kid's video it was shit. If anything he just made himself look like an ignorant bitch. a really childish one. long line neurosis!

  • I just hope that dude paid for the CD before he trashed it.

  • oh he did...after all he was complaining he 'waisted' 17 bucks on it.

  • It's the first time I hear the sound like this. AMAZING! Gotta get their whole discography.

  • Who is the guy that is talking on the phone?I guess it´s Dave, but I´m not sure.

  • i think its either dave or jason on the phone... maybe noah? no, i dont think its noah... i'd put my money on dave...

    God, i love Steve's voice.

  • simply the baddest mother fuckin band on the planet. PERIOD

  • oooh yeah men!!

  • these holy giants need a live dvd

  • GODS

  • the new album is so good, its one of their top 3 albums, a pure work of art!

  • I was prepared to be disappointed by "Given To The Rising" but my god it's fucking amazing. This could seriously be album of the year.

  • quote

  • Weed + Neurosis = Full Effect

  • not to sound cliche, but the music itself is a drug. bands like Neurosis, ISIS, God is an Astronaut, etc totally just put me in this state of trance that's pretty hard to break. it's like psilocybin for however long the record is on.

  • Music is indeed a drug.. A drug that can be enhanced by listening to it when under the influence of the drug, cannabis! :D

  • lol

  • @dlmyers17 Didnt make a difference dude. The music is so deep drugs do almost to change the effect.

  • Neurosis is completely something else, through their music they manage to exprese every emotion, Given to the rising is awsome, the concept of the album...the animal statues are perfect for the ambient this album creates...

  • yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • i am so glad that mainstream media stays away from neurosis...their integrity is amazing and when you lisen to them you can HEAR their souls coming through them....channelling makes them the best!

  • I can't believe they've managed to make every album better than the last. Neurosis are by far one of the most talented metal bands to ever have existed.

  • they get fucking better and better. jesus

  • i seriously believe its their best album ever...

  • Sick, DaveED is wearing a fucking corrupted shirt as well!

    FUCK! YEAH!

Since progress...Neurosis has been tearing shit up.

  • wow they are working with steve albini now !! GREAT !!

  • They've been working with Albini since 'Times of Grace' in 1999.

  • how the hell can any band top every album they make, the only band i'm fully comitted 2, a million stars 4 neurosis

  • icredible album, amazing band, neurosis could bash the living shit of almost every other band out there.

  • I agree...Given to the Rising is an unbelievable achievement, I love this album!

  • Given to the Rising is a materpiace. Neurosis are brilliant.

  • Oh my god, I love this band!

  • neurosis fuckin rules!!!!!!!!!!!

son lo mejor y este disco muestra que son dioses

  • super cool! a very innovative band.

  • Yes, that sound. Massive. Though they do not possess the combination of imagination and pure innovative musical skill like the incomparable Meshuggah, I do like them.

  • people, if you like Neurosis go buy their albums right now ! The artwork is as brillant as their music !!

    Great band really :)

  • Soo soo good......

  • One of the best bands of all time...elemental and heavy.

Enemy of the sun, souls at zero, a sun that never sets, through silver in blood, sovereign...got that lot but need MORE. The art and sonics complement each other so well. STILL not seen em live...gutted.

  • Now you know...

  • I'm tempted to say it's their best album ever... i'd have to choose between A Sun That Never Sets and this one... its just the most absolutely brilliant source of apocaliptic destruction ever made...

Does anyone have the lyrics to this album?

If anyone could put them on the internet it would be great!
